Not trying to flame, but I applaud Mark Rein for putting Sony in their place. They shouldn't be allowed to make an arrogantm jackass statement like that and get away with it.
That said, I aggree that game selection is the only thing that matters since the gap graphical capabilities between the systems are miniscule. Besides, good looking games can still suck, no matter how pretty they are.

However, just to prove I'm not powered by Windows: I thought White Knight looked incredible [waits for playable demo footage].
And as for 2nd gen Xbox 360 games versus 1st gen PS3 games, you'd be foolish to think they haven't been in production for an extremely similar length of time.
If I sound like a fanboy, it's only because I'm tired of people making blatantly inaccurate observations when as subjective as this entire debate is, objectivity is still freely available and in abundance should you have the willpower to manage it.

just wait til thay make a cell based game engine (i thought unreal engine 3 was in the first place) cuase the cell is verry complex and just any old game engine will not output the full power so for that it needs a game engine made for the cell and only the cell, and when that happens you will see all games made with it looking better than even gears of war. after thinking about that you would ask, are thay waiting on that to make killzone 2?

as for Resistance, yes, it's a game set in the 1950's. yes the hero is battling an alien species, but it does seem to be actively trying to do something different. the storyline is intriguing, the weapons are unique, the enemies look creepy. and WWII never happened. already, that sets it apart from every other WWII game out there. how many times can they recycle the same scenarios in each WWII games? how many Market Gardens actually happened back then?
at least Insomniac has an original story to tell, even though the backdrop is a familiar one.
i haven't played Gears of War, but i have played Resistance. it was a lot of fun, and so far, the story appeals to me more than that which is in Gears. i have high hopes for them both, but only one of them is set to impress people greatly if it exceeds expections (and it's looking like it will), while the other will be panned to no end if it doesn't live up to it's hype. who has more to lose?

This next-gen console war is more like a scrap fight between two gossiping, hair-pulling pre-teen brothers and their little sister who does her best to stay out of it and ends up being rewarded by the parents.

And he make yet another FPS for the 360 as if it doesn't already have enough. Is there some FPS for dummies manual out there somewhere because everyone wants to make one.
Anyway graphics are secondary in my opinion. Yes they do help, but it is the greatness of the game that counts.
Gran Turismo wouldn't be the title it is today if it wasn't for the fact that the producer loves cars. He put his heart and soul into the title and it shows.
Virtua Fighter -there is no substitute period. No bouncy breast are going to convince me otherwise.
Metal Gear Solid- Without Kogima's love and knowledge of cinema, it wouldn't be the same game. (Look at Splinter Cell, it is a great game,but it is missing that hollywood like magic that MG has)
Notice how Ico and Shadow of Colosus look rough compared to XBOX games, but they are great games not riding on graphics alone.

The launch games were most "updated" xbox games that were not designed from the ground up for the xbox360 but that is NOT where we are now. Im extremely stoked about GoW....However if it sucks it sucks! I'll be the judge not some MS hater or MS robot! Oh and by the way I will be getting the ps3 anyway and adding it to my collection(xbox360,ps2,gamecube,dreamcast,xbox,and my original nintendo still in its original box!.....any yes I still play all of them!!!)

12hrs is still along time if your going to play it on the hardest difficulty first time (like me) But 40 players online is way to much and the fact that there are no vehicles online will just make having custom game types pointless for that genre or will there not be any custom gametypes. GoW is way ahead in its genre and to all the sony fanboys its a 3rd person shooter not fps.
And #14, GoW isnt an alien invasion, read up and find out what the story of the game is, seeing as its not even set on Earth...

I agree the PS2 online netwrok was a joke. But before the 360 launch there were more people playing socom online than there were people with LIVE accounts.
Also, that was the PS2, the PS3 network is not going to be anything like it. It should be pretty much exactly like live, but free online gaming, and you'll have to pay for demos, music and movies.

I agree the PS2 online netwrok was a joke. But before the 360 launch there were more people playing socom online than there were people with LIVE accounts.
Also, that was the PS2, the PS3 network is not going to be anything like it. It should be pretty much exactly like live, but free online gaming, and you'll have to pay for demos, music and movies.

Where were you during TGS??? Tell ya what, go to IGN... you can find all the gameplay footage you want there.
