The fog of war covers Xbox 360 battlefieldsDuck and cover in PS3 battlefieldsAIr support arrives for the Wii

With Call of Duty 3 coming out on three separate consoles, we've been doing a bit of "how do the games compare" comparisons lately. Of course, there's no arguing that each console brings something a bit unique-to-itself to CoD3, from the graphics processing power of the Xbox 360 and PS3 to the Wii's Wiimote.

Well, QJ's been hit with a stackload of screens from all three versions of the game, conveniently airdropped by Activision. If you still want to play the "compare one screen to another game" like the guy who meticulously analyzed the difference between the 360 and Wii screens, go ahead, but like we always say: it doesn't matter what platform, so as long as the game rocks solid.

ps3 looks better

Before and after comparison from ps3 e3 05 to now! The 360 in-game screenshot blow away anything the PS3 can muster up. Below is the link for the comparison, PS3 fanboys don't start crying when you realize you have been lied too. FACT is the 360 is a better games machine performance wise, if you can't see that in the link below you are either blind or a sony fanboy.

AND THE FACTS DON'T LIE......

There are three critical performance aspects of a console:

Central Processing Unit (CPU) performance.

The Xbox 360 CPU architecture has three times the general purpose processing power of the Cell.

Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) performance

The Xbox 360 GPU design is more flexible and it has more processing power than the PS3 GPU.

Memory System Bandwidth

The memory system bandwidth in Xbox 360 exceeds the PS3's by five times.

The truth hurts. You can bring a ton of technical jargon but it's pointless. The 360 has sold about 6 million worldwide thus far. PS3 is expecting to surpass whatever lead the 360 had by March 07.

Can you honeslty tell me that you can play Saints Row or any other complex game and it does not freeze. I've even heard of Dead Rising not working to well. I just don't think the machine can handle that.

Upscalled 1080p and add-ons, consumers don't want that. M$ claims to give thier customers a choice. There are a few things that I have to have if I play. Let's see how much that will cost me with 360:

XBOX 360 = $400
Wireless Adapter - $100
Online Gaming - $50 (a year)

Essentials total - $550

All this is included with the PS3 for $50 more, not to mention a ton of other add-ons.

After two years of owning a 360 a person would have paid a total of at least $500 if you include $50 a year in XBL fees.

 » Re: >> wii

Why do you say the wii will play better? Because of the motion sensitivity and using the wiimote to controle where your gun is pointing? Think about it, what if it is too sensitive to the motion, next thing you know you have a gun going all over the place and you can't control it.

I have some friends who have been lucky enough to play the wii before launch and the fact is the wii isn't going to compete in the graphics department of the console war. So the only way they can make up for it is gameplay now what if the screw up the gameplay for Call Of Duty 3 because It is way to sensitive? There is no reason to play it on the wii anymore, you will play it on you XBOX 360 or PS3.

I have seen a few gameplay videos of Call Of Duty 3 on the wii from when one of my friends got to test it. It looked extremely hard to control the character because it was too sensitive.

I will not be buying this game for the wii, I will be buying it for the 360. It's not that I don't like the wii it's that the wii hasn't proven that its new control system works. And all of you lazy fat gamers out there who want remote disc changers for your 360 sure as hell aren't gonna like this console, cause you are going to get tired of moving you hands and arms all over, its easier to use thumbsticks.

Anyway this game looks amazing and I will definantly buy it and it will probably be one of my favorite games, as Call Of Duty 2 is my favorite game for 360 and always as been. I am looking forward to next weeks release of Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Which is also gonna suck on the wii!

It's starting to look like everything is going to suck on the wii! Well, I guess it's going to be between Microsoft and Sony as Nintendo apeals to little kiddies and adult loser lazy gamers......

Am I the only one that thinks the Wii version looks like total horse*****? Jaggies, low-res textures, pitiful geometry. I can't believe that people are being paid to make this ***** and that there are idiots out there that would actually pay $250 for that trash console.

By the way, #3, you're a total retard. The real facts are that the PS3 is more powerful than the *****box 360. The Cell is one of the most powerful CPUs on the planet right now. It's being used for a super computer cluster, which will include some PS3s. The RSX is more than capable of matching or surpassing XBox 360 graphics. Blu-Ray will give developers more than enough space to built large immersive games without space restrictions. PS3 is simply better.

Gamepro has a comparisson on their website of the two next-gen systems and that last-gen children's toy (Wii) and the PS3 handily beats the Xbox 360.

No doubt, PS3 FTW come 11/17!

To all the posters above me, STFU, you god damn f'ing crap-holes.

The moment a news is posted about a game that will soon be released on all three consoles, retards like you people come jumping on the news siptting out your immature comments. Why cant you write anything about "Call of Duty 3" as a game.. NOT the systems the game will be releasing on.

For me, personally, CoD3 is sounding more intense and realistic.. even better than CoD2. I am excited and will be buying this game when it is released.

Get a f'ing life, people and be mature when posting your comments. Enough of this console wars. Be happy with what you have bought with your hard earned money and let the other person enjoy his!

Thanks!

SEGA GENISIS FTW!!!!

Ok children, did we all forget that as long as the game is awesome it doesn't matter what system you can play it on. Everyone sounds like they are getting a hard on by describing the GPUs, CPUs, ABC's and 123's.

Graphics do not matter.... gameplay does.

It's like having a supermodel as a girlfriend: Pretty to look at, but that's all there is to it.

Also you can have the best system in the world (hardware wise) but what good is it if the developers can't do anything with it.

So there, all the fan boys can argue all they want to, but remember:
Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics:Even if you win, you're still retarded.

I AM NOT BUYING COD 3

I`d rather wait for the Infinaty ward COD4 than get, no.3; the dev's making it did the console COD's and Big Red One.

Seriously the best thing about COD 1 (best cod by a mile) and 2 was the ease of KB + mouse, and the plentiful mods that follow. A COD LAN is great.

I reckon 3 may score around the 80% mark, juding by the previous consolised CODs minus COD 2. If i find out it has co-op THEN i might think about it. Honestly i`d rather Resistance or Motorstorm, let alone Warhawk.

Wii version should be fun, but they did bad on the graphics. If the Wii is better than the GC in graphics, then Call for Duty could get close to at least Metroid Prime quality of GC.... GG

 » Getting it for 360

Not because I give a shizt about loyalty to a freaken company, but because its going to be online enabled and thats what made cod2 so much fun for the 360. Nintendo already said that the Wii will not support games online untill 2007. Sony has two problems: 1) Their whole aproach to gaming online is kind of a big f' you to the player. Making it up to the game companies to support online or not (we saw how that ended up for ps2). 2) Seeing as how its going to be almost impossible to score a ps3 at launch even if i wanted one (and i remind you cod3 is coming out at around ps3 launch) I wouldn't want to wait 3 months to play a game thats already out. I dont really care if nintendo, sony or microsoft win the "CONSOLE WAR TM" i just want to play my god damn games.

Everybody please stop spouting crap about specs, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Facts when comparing X360 cpu (xenon) to PS3 cpu (Cell):
Both 3.2ghz
X360 is tri-core, 64bit, two thread per core
PS3 Cell is 64bit, 7 operational independant SPE (ie self suficient threads)
Ideal code perfomce Cell can outstrip Xenon
Generic code performance, Xenon outstrips Cell
Real world, specifically designed game performance: EXACTLY THE SAME!!!

And please don't compare X360/PS3 screens to Wii for COD3. The Wii has been given the exact same version as the Xbox and PS2, with updated controls. The reason for this is that Activision anticipated the Wii to be a flop when they began production. They are using Wii as a dumping ground, just like EA and Ubisoft were, but Ubisoft seems to be coming round. Remember these three companies releases early days on DS which they also used as a dumping ground? Absolute crap! Gaming would be a lot better of today without the major publishers.

Apparantly none of you are computer programmers because if you understood technical computing functions in the slightest way you would realize that the way the XBOX 360's CPU and GPU are outlined give it far superior flexibility and raw power...

You people are seriously retarded

   by Vietone - 2006-10-11
 » Comparing two different systems

For one you cant compare the power of the Xbox360 vs the PS3 in default benchmarks.

The Cell is indeed the better processor for certain applications and the Xenon is better for certain applications.

The Cell is a raw power processor. It crushes the Xbox360 CPU in terms of raw power. This means that games will have better features that require raw processing power like physics.

The Xbox360 CPU is the same as desktop CPUs, its added features give it the extra boost for applications and calculations. So it works better in transferring data from one peripheral to another. This is why you wont see cell processor used in applications that require large amount of data to be sent back and forth.

Now on with the graphics cards, both are nearly equal in power. Both have their advantages and weaknesses and the PC counterparts prove that.

Its like the 7800 vs the 1800. Both run better at certain games and both have advantages above the other and to say that one is far superior to the other is just being stupid.

Flexability and power are not the problem with the PS3. Its a new way of programming. Developers only said it was hard because its different. How many people easily made the transition from every version of photoshop with no hurdles? There isnt one person out there who had a smooth transition from version to version, something moved, new features, means that you need to rework yourself around it.

that just cause the Wii has a new controller that it will be any better, but I'm hoping. What startles me, is the extreme lower quality of the Wii version.
