Folklore - Image 1Yes, folks more Folklore screenshots are here for your game previewing needs. Since a lot has been said about the game's backstory already, we'll just leave you with a ton of gameplay screenshots and concept art.

The video game Folklore is developed by Gaia/Game Republic, and is published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). It's also known as Folks Soul: The Lost Folklore in Japan and as Monster Kingdom: Unknown Realms, its working title of the game.

It's artsy-fartsy and has Kouji Okada, the father of the Shin Megami Tensei series at its helm. Despite the artsy-fantasy-occult-ish flavor of the game (we say this based on the concept art and the revealed back story), the game is supposedly an action adventure title, and if the following gameplay screens are to be considered, it does seem like Folklore attempts to deliver some fast-paced gameplay.

Okay, enough about the game and on to the images! Click on the thumbnails below to magnify. First up, the concept art  - images of environments, the two main characters, and the opponents.

i played a demo of this game yesterday
its titled Folks Soul here in japan.
great game but will probably be overshadowed by DMC4.
in this game you get starting monsters, map it to the four action buttons, pushing the corresponding buttons on the game executes the attack or command of the monster binded to it, you can combo between attacks, but not all attacks can be used as combo because there are some monster abilities such as bazooka which of course has pause stooping the combo. as you kill enemies, some will become part of your skill. then theres this skill where you do a fatality like move a soul come out of you like a lasso/rope then strangle the near dead enemy, you then use the sixaxis tilt function to reel in the soul of the monster to absorb it as your skill. mini/bosses when near death forces you to move in different motions while reeling in their soul. the first boss ive encountered can be caught by tilting the sixaxis left right left right until you see the up where it finishes the context. the demo may be longer though but i had to go hehehe. anyways nice game but will probably not noticed due to DMC4 is much popular. oh and there's also a female character which i didnt have a chance to try out.
