Alone in the Dark - Image 1Atari has finally announced that the Xbox 360, PC, Wii, and PS2 versions of Alone in the Dark have finally gone gold. This means that the aforementioned platform versions will be making their expected launch dates on June 20 in Europe and June 24 in North America.

Those eagerly awaiting to try out the PlayStation 3 version of Alone in the Dark will have to wait a bit longer though, as the game still hasn't been given a specific date because of frame-rate issues we reported on earlier. However, the press release from Atari did mention that the game is scheduled for Autumn 2008, meaning we can still expect to see this hit retail shelves soon enough.

For those who aren't too familiar with the game, Alone in the Dark is an action-adventure game set in Central Park. It is said to be patterned after the various episodic television shows and presents gamers with a "DVD-style" chapter select menu which should allow gamers to skip to the parts they enjoy.

I see Phil Harrison has fully assimilated into Atari.. He's brought with him his amazing PS3 delaying capabilities!

*rolls eyes*

I know its old news at this point.. but still not impressed. Though I should be used to it by now. Its hard to shrug off even the lightest kick to the nuts.

It was already delayed before he got there. Atari is so desperate for money they probably delayed the PS3 version to save costs and focus on a quickier release. PS3 fans should probably be grateful they wont be getting a buggy port, if the game is good it's probably worth waiting 4 to 6 months for a solid version.
