Assassin's Creed's Altair learns to swim for future project - Image 1In a recent interview, Prince of Persia's animation director David Wilkinson let slip details to what may very well be a sequel to Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360, PS3) *gasp*.

In the interview, Wilkinson was praising the work of Alex Drouin, who did animations for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Incidentally, he also worked on Assassin's Creed, which caused Wilkinson to reveal something he probably shouldn't have.

Right at the tail end of the interview, he was asked what Drouin was up to now, to which Wilkinson responded: "He's busy making Altair even more beautiful. Last thing I saw him do was getting Altair to swim."

An Assassin's Creed sequel is to be expected, but if we take Wilkinson's comment point-blank, we have some small clue on what to expect: Altair is back, and he'll be able to swim. Knowing how Altair takes to water like a bowling ball would, it will be pretty interesting to see how the writers will explain this one.

I was about reply saying that bowling bowls sink, but then I read this http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/00000067

So uh, pretend I meant "bowling bowls heavier than 12 pounds."

they are still balls....the act of bowling is to bowl, but the implements in which you use to bowl, are balls....(and pins etc of course)

Sounds like I offended you more than Isaac. Any ways it was all in good fun. Not to hurt any ones feelings. I just thought it was funny he wrote it like 5 times. He's Probably a stoner like the rest of us.

I agree, the game has a lot of potential so i hope to see a lot more variation in the sequels

The first game was amazing, but after you beat it, it was kinda boring. I do hope that they add more variety, and maybe multiplayer...somehow.
Lets just hope there are no swimming specific tasks which need to be performed.

I read the article as "Altair doesn't down anyone" as in, he's not going to kill anyone and... was confused for a min.

Haha, it makes sense. I mean, not being able to swim was dumb. Nice to see their fixing it.

That the second doesn't SUCK like the last one.....maybe mission structure should be the priority and NOT animation....

 » sequel should be better!

The game was praised by almost everybody for its graphics etc but at the same time a high number of players were disappointed that the game playing was so slow. The story itself has plenty of potential and should the writers listen which I am sure they do they will remedy many of the complaints. I for one look forward to the next altair. I am sure that having learnt to swim is only a small part of what we can expect.

 » Assassin's Creed...

This game was simply not what people thought it'd be, and to be honest I was dissapointed by some things, but the general game was so nicely done that only playing in this world was fun.

I want to have more possibilities to kill people, just jumping on them and stabbing them with the dagger gets old, I want to be able to shoot arrows in their back, I want to be able to push them into ropes and hang them, I want to have more option when it comes to fnishing the job.
