With the Sony PlayStation 3 console enjoying success in the UK following its recently concluded March 23 launch, more good news comes in for the buyers as MCV reports two promos that slash the PS3's sale price below the standard £ 425 (US$ 840) tag.

The first deal is being offered by the WH Smith retail store chain, which is currently selling the PS3 console for only £ 399.99 (US$ 790) each - £ 25 (US$ 49) less than the standard retail price. This Easter promo is limited to WH Smith's larger stores, and is expected to end this April 10.

For the online-savvy buyers, we report that the Play.com online retailer is also offering the PS3 console for £ 399.99. What makes Play.com's offer more enticing is its inclusion of an HDMI cable and a Blu-Ray copy of Adam Sandler's "Click" movie in the pack. For the buyers who decided to hold out from the temptation of pre-ordering their PS3s in case better bargains showed up, this could be it.
