Battlefield: Bad Company - Image 1

Electronic Arts' and Digital Illusions CE's Battlefield series is among the most decorated shooter franchises we've seen, and it's no surprise that the upcoming installment Battlefield: Bad Company (PS3, Xbox 360), is getting a lot of attention. The game already looks poised to deliver all the standards of the series and a platoon of additions, but the devs say they aren't done just yet.

In a recent Eurogamer report, it was revealed by the guys over at DICE that a Conquest Mode will be added as a free downloadable content upon the game's launch. They added that work has begun in tinkering with the game's maps to make sure they all support the mode.

Conquest Mode is essentially capture the flag Battlefield-style. It stands out in the sense that it's a lot faster than capture the flag derivatives such as Gold Rush. The addition of Conquest Mode should go along nicely with the game's multiplayer options. Add to that what looks to be an engaging solo campaign, and you've got a potential powder keg of fun.
