So apparently the PS3 version of BioShock (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) doesn't have quite the same level of graphics as its Xbox 360 counterpart. This has caused quite a furor on the game's official forums, and so community managers from 2K Games have stepped in to give some answers.

Europe's PlayStation Network update for today is bringing another round of goods, not least of which is the BioShock demo - just as scheduled! And if you're sick of FIFA 09 (already?!), there's the PES 2009 demo. There's more Rock Band songs available, as well as a new PSN arcade title, Geon.

Rejoice, PlayStation 3 gamers, the journey to Rapture is at hand! 2K Games has officially announced that BioShock PS3 has gone gold. A demo will also be released on Thursday on the PlayStation Network, so watch out for that one.

Looks like visuals aren't the only thing that will be exactly the same when BioShock gets translated for the PlayStation 3. According to the devs, they chose not to change the game's ending as well, despite criticism that it was rather limited. Details after the link.

One of the new things arriving in Rapture via the PS3 version of BioShock is the Ferris Wheel room. You might remember seeing screenshots of it in an earlier post when we talked about the PS3-exclusive content. Today, 2K Games animator Grant Chang discussed about how he eventually got this big wheeler into the game, despite it not being available in the Xbox 360 and PC versions, as well as his awkwardly-fulfilling task to do some custom animations for Little Sister.

What a nice creepy way to start the month of October! The free PS3 demo for BioShock has been dated. Better make sure to gear up your console (clear out some memory if necessary), the demo hits the PlayStation Network on October 2!

What with all the recent games requiring a mandatory install, this one doesn't come as a surprise at all. The PlayStation 3 version of BioShock will have a mandatory install of 5 GB, so be sure you have some space on your drive when it comes out.
