Go blu-ray, cant wait until this format war in the US is finally over. They've already won in other parts of the world.
... and soon the Bluray drive on Xbox360 ? With of the s.h.i.t said by 360 fanboys, I think they don't deserve this treat !
But fans do. As with all formats, there are more fans than fanboys, so Blu-ray on the 360 would be good to see.
Just the same, if it happens, it would be for movies only, not games.
The XBOX 360 is not a "movie console" it's just for games. The PS3 is just for movies since the games suck.
Blu ray on the 360 would be an abomonation and will not happen.
My internet provider limits me at 20 gb download per month so downloading a movie would first of all be very long and second ...i could only download one ..
So i would rather have the disc and not waste all the space on my hard drive anyway
oh man. your isp sucks ass first of all. second buy the movies they really arent expensive anyways.
it limits me to 20gb but if i go over it i don't necessarily need to pay anything extra or something, my internet speed just slows down to dial up speed which could be really annoying.
but even if that is not the case i still woulnd't download my hi def movies... i'll continue buying from retail stores... the only movies i download are porn (for obvious reasons) and all the rest i buy in physical media and will continue to do so...
36 Blu Ray movies and counting.
Im also similar my PC doesn't allow me to download anything other than 20GB, and its just one. Also i like buying the high definitions movies, Downloading it seems to lessen the quality(sometimes). Yea porn is cool, i also download anime shows. But thats the only things i download.
5 GB download limit a month! i went 13gb over thanks to psn demos and vids!
I get 20down/5up from verizon for 39.99 a month with no limits on downloading. You guys really need to get a new isp. On a more relative note, I recently bought Warhawk from the PSN and will never buy another game that way. I like having the disc and would rather pay an extra $20 for it.
HD DVD or blu ray... I don't care who wins but one of both needs to wins because the consumer don't wants more than one format... I want the blu ray wins because I have a PS3 and I never bought the 360 add on because I already have the blu ray integrated... anyway the bluray player in the pic looks cool...
You don't care who wins, but you want blu-ray to win??
he doesn't care who wins but if Blu-ray wins he actually benefits from it since he has a PS3 and doesn't have to go out and buy a fricken expensive HD DVD player just for movies while he already has Blu-ray bundle cheap with PS3 as a gift from Sony.
I hope you dont have anything to do with PR. You are in serious need of a few writing and English classes
The infrastructure to download 25GB movies is not here. Fiber optics to every home is what it going to take for mass conversion to d/l movie content. And a lot more. Majority of consumer's what a physical item when the buy something. They aren't getting that, with d/l content.
Blu-ray should win. But we will go to d/l content at sometime in the future. I think it's just a natural progression of the media.
d/l is not gna be user friendly for some ppl such as my old man......and many others. Giv it another 10-15yr wen PCs and internet are as mainstream as a TV.
Hasnt the Japs got some sort of superspeed internet already?
I don't think MS has any intention of putting out 25GB movies. They probably intended to compress to about 2-4% of that size regardless of the quality loss. While I'm sure there is a market there, I the convience doesn't always make up for the quality loss. Youtube is a good example of this, you might watch one or two episodes of something there, but you wouldn't want to have to watch an entire season like that.
If we had full quality movies downloads available I would just end up needing to buy a Blu-ray recorder so I could archive stuff off. I don't want to fill up my drive with stuff I'm only going to watch occasionally, and I usually want to share stuff with friends.
In addition, if you downloaded content and wanted to take it with you while traveling or to a different location, hauling around a computer/console is much more difficult than carrying a single disc.
Computers crash, get viruses, have corrupted files, etc, none of which applies to disc media (Data stored on discs statistically has the longest lifespan of any storage media).
Of course, you could always burn the downloaded content onto discs, but then you have to BUY the disc and burn it, and at that point you should have just bought the disc anyways.
i think the blu-ray has won, everytime i go to bestbuy or walmart i see alot of blu-ray movies and rarely hd dvd. Also we a new movie comes out the commerical most of the time says buy it on dvd or blu-ray. So, it just a matter of time before hd dvd gives up.
MS said:
you will never need more than 8 gigs for a game
20 gig HDD is enough
you will never need a HDD
