PS3 and cats - Image 1While rumors of price cuts continue to float (or sink), why not reach for an actual floatie? Rentals are picking up as a good option to experience next-gen gaming without waiting for your income to go next-gen - and if can apply to games, why not to the game platforms, too?

Rent-A-Center announces its Rent-It-To-Own-It 60GB PS3 offer. Just like GameSwap's Rent-It-To-Own-It-Game across the water, you get to rent a PS3 from them, which should make it easier on the wallet for a while.

But as any economics student knows, ownership is still the cheapest option (though sometimes not immediately accessible), and Rent-A-Center leaves you the option of purchasing the rented PS3 - when you can - within the first 90 days of your rental, just by paying the PS3's price, minus the rentals already deposited, plus tax.

Hope the math didn't scramble anything up there (there's a little bit extra math, depending on where you live).

(Hope this doesn't hurt, too. ATTENTION: Rent-To-Own is NOT AVAILABLE in MN, NJ, NC, VT and WI. Please call or visit your local Rent-A-Center store in MN, NJ, NC, and VT and your local Get It Now! store in WI for details on the program available there. In Arkansas, the advertised transaction is a rental-purchase transaction.)

just shows how many cheap *****s there are in the world doesn't it. people complain how much the ps3 costs? jeez, get a *****n job.. done!

if you can't afford a god damn ps3 stop bit**ing and stfu. nobody cares about you. sony rather sell it to the people who can afford it than make it cheaper for poor idiots. what happens when the cheap fu**kers get a ps3 then start complaining about how much the games cost. all of you without a ps3 and complaing about it just go away and live in your cheap house, with your cheap food and cheap bed.

 » PS3 no point

I would rather use the money to rent dvds than to waste it on a system that has so few games. What is the point in renting it if there is nothing to put into it other than a few Blu Ray movies?.

the ps3 has too few games that you people pass to purchase a ps3 and pass to play the few available games and pass on the online experience. guess what you passed, we enjoyed!

 » yeah dude totally

what about us cheap *****ers who have a job, but still want to *****, because its 600 goddamn dollars? Most actual, real live people have other things to buy. From the looks of it, 600 bucks is a small price to pay for your feeling a little bit better about a small pecker.

 » PS3 plus Intrest

The PS3 is already expensive enough, rent-to-own will just tack on interest and in the end will just cost even more. And vb has a point, why rent-to-own a ps3 when there arent any worthwile games at the moment? Besides, if youre too *poor* to own the console you prefer then your money could be well spent other places.

Lol. All this renting. Save a little bit for it. Set a goal. Better accomplishment! Go PS3!
