Nothing like an official announcement to put a rumor to rest. Sony Computer Entertainment has recently opened an official site confirming their upcoming PlayStation Day for this May 6, 2008.

SCEE's site didn't post too much information at the moment, though it detailed the keynote speakers and games that would be showcased at t he event.

With regard to the keynote speakers, it has been confirmed that Sony Computer Entertainment International president Kaz Hirai will be there, as will SCEE's president David Reeves. The event's also going to be showcasing a couple of the SCEE's upcoming titles, including Resistance 2, and Secret Agent Clank. Here's a shortlist of the games currently expected to be showcased:

• Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (Launching in Europe by June)
• Resistance 2
• Secret Agent Clank
• SingStar Vol. 2
