Xbox 360 gamers will be earning double XP in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) this weekend. The event will start Friday, September 12, and will run until Sunday, September 14. Some of the Infinity Ward staff will also be going online this weekend for the Play With Devs event at 4 P.M. PDT on Saturday. Keep an eye out for the Infinity Ward staffers even before or after the event, though, as they will apparently be joining in on the action unofficially all weekend long. In addition, the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack will be getting a 50% price cut. Those who haven't downloaded it yet will be able to get it from the Xbox Live Marketplace for a mere 400 MS Points. The Prestige Gamer pic pack will also be making a reappearance on the Marketplace. PS3 players will also be getting their own Double XP Weekend, but it'll be closer to September 18 due to schedule conflicts. Related articles:

» delay??
Bit odd we have to wait for a double xp weekend for and old game over ""conflict"" bit of a random reason imo.

» boo.
I thought they would be releasing more DLC, not just doing a mere price cut. Oh well. COD5 is so close that it doesnt even matter anymore.

» CoD5, who cares?!
I really could care less about CoD5, I'm glad Infinity Ward chose to go modern with CoD4, however Treyarch going back to WWII seems like a step backwards in my opinion. I mean we've been there, done that time and time again. Seriously, why not Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, ANYTHING beisdes WWII, hell I'd even settle for WWI.

» i agree completely with above
negative rate this comment as much as you want but the world war 2 scenario has been abused soo much its liek beating a dead horsejust like some mario games.
I WANT MODERN WARFARE guess ill be waiting for COD6 unless they improve the servers for ps3 online(not saying its bad but could be much better)
kind of curious what kind of perks for the guns (there was no red dot sight in WW2 :0)

» erm...
Don't people host their own games of CoD4 on the PS3? I didn't think there were dedicated servers like there are for Bad Company.
