Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has tweeted via his fourzerotwo Twitter account that a new patch for the online exploits in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is currently in the works. So to those taking advantage of these exploits, for certain player advantages over others, those days of exploitation are numbered.

A new Modern Warfare game is in the works, according to a Twitter post by Infinity Ward's community manager. Anyone surprised the game's getting a sequel? Didn't think so.

Unfortunately, there won't be any more DLCs coming your way for Call of Duty 4 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). But why would Infinity Ward pull such a mean stunt? Well, it's more of unfortunate than mean, actually. But there's actually a very good reason for this move.

Doug Creutz with Cowen and Company believe, through their research note that Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS) will sell 5.5 million copies during its lifetime in the US. Good news or bad? Apparently, this is a 32.4% year-on-year decline from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).

It's the PlayStation Network's turn to have their very own Double XP Weekend for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), and what's more is that there's also going to be a week-long period of promotions for the PS3. Yay for cheaper DLC! More info in the full article.

Xbox 360 gamers will be earning double XP in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) this weekend along with some DLC promos on the Marketplace. PS3 gamers will also get their own Double XP Weekend, but schedule conflicts have pushed it back to a later date. More in the full article.

PS3 and 360 owners get some CoD4 treats their way... we're just not sure what it is just yet though. Heck, even Robert Bowling himself isn't certain about the details just yet, but chances are, we might get another round of Double XP soon. And if we're really lucky, maybe even more than that too. Here's a bit of a downer: Infinity Ward has announced that Trophies will not be implemented on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. At least, not in the near future.
