Sony’s going down from its PS2’s glory days; MS’s going up from its poorly performed Xbox days. There’s no big mystery in this. One thing is a fact; even if Sony wins this console war with PS3s, Sony won’t dominate the industry like they did with PS2s.

- PS3: 1.8m
- Xbox: 24m
- PS2: 100m
Only 1 year has been elapsed, and MS sold 10m X360s when they have only sold about 24m Xboxes in 5 years.
I have read many different analyses written by those people who research and make statistics; and between the PS3s and the X360s; currently...
(1) MS is offering much better quality support for the 3rd party developers (service).
(2) X360’s developer kits are much easier and more convenient to use (user friendly).
(3) X360 hardware is much easier to make games on (less complex hardware components).
(4) MS had 1 year head start.
- Hardware architecture is much more known to developers.
- 5 times more number of X360s was sold
- 5 times more profit for developers.
- MS can cut the price of X360 by $100 in the near future while Sony can’t do that for another year.
- Unmatched number of more games (above $50) has been released (X360: about 350 games, PS3: about 50 so far)
- Xbox & PS3 both were released year(s) later than PS2 & X360; Xbox & PS3 were more expensive, bigger, more powerful and less diverse (had less number of games).
(5) So far, so many PS3 exclusive top quality games now moved on to X360 (multi-platform).
(6) X360 has considerably better online support (PS3’s online service only has bare minimums).
(7) X360 console is $200 cheaper.
* Moreover comparing PS3s and X360s is like comparing dogs and cats. Dogs (PS3s) are smarter, more expensive to buy, more expensive to maintain, living longer (longer lifespan), more powerful, bigger, faster, more useful, et cetera than cats (X360s).

The PS3 has been out for 2months (and thats only in 2 regions) and is yet to release throughout Europe, so comparing sales at this point is irrelevant. And id rather have free online to play games etc than pay £40 EVERY YEAR to play online. £40 over 5 years + £200, just in online fees alone.

Most of you don't realize that Microsoft is making the exact same mistake as they did with the original Xbox. Piss Poor Single Player line-up. There aren't any must have games that can be played off-line. This is one of the reasons why the PS2 dominated over the Xbox. The PS2 had the best gaming experience by far. Microsoft will lead you to believe that playing online is huge but the fact remains that less then half of the console gamers even play online and the Xbox360 proves it. The system has sold 10 million but the number of subscribed accounts is well less then half.
Unless Microsoft can come up with a good single-player line up, they will never take 1st place against Sony, and will lose 2nd place to Nintendo. Fact being, just about every Xbox360 game is tailored for online gaming. Thats the problem.

I used to love Sony, but the fact is that since I've played on Xbox Live my gaming experience hasn't been the same. It is online play that makes me come back to a game (yes, like Halo 2) for literally years. I don't buy very many games anymore, and I imagine that's at least partially because I feel that I don't have to do so.
People keep talking scheißen about M$ being evil or money grubbing, but when it came to the rumble feature it was Sony who kept fighting in court and eventually made up that fairy tale about it interfering with the Six-Axis (I mean, the Wiimote has BOTH acceleration detection and rumble, doesn't it?). I like FPS games, and when I'm being shot at by an enemy, I'd like to know it. That's just not easy without rumble in games like Resistance.
Though this is sort of hypocritical (since I am very much convinced about Halo 3 being good), I think it is very silly to assume that any game is going to be good before they play it; I learned after Project Ego became Fable that what you expect has nothing to do with how good something will be. As a rule these days, I don't anticipate games, and I certainly don't preorder them (not even Halo 3). As a result, I've saved a lot of money and have had a better gaming experience.
I'll probably end up getting PS3, perhaps for MGS4 (and the linux thing is pretty sweet, I must say), but right now the 360 appeals to me more.
I used to love Sony, but the fact is that since I've played on Xbox Live my gaming experience hasn't been the same. It is online play that makes me come back to a game (yes, like Halo 2) for literally years. I don't buy very many games anymore, and I imagine that's at least partially because I feel that I don't have to do so.
People keep talking scheißen about M$ being evil or money grubbing, but when it came to the rumble feature it was Sony who kept fighting in court and eventually made up that fairy tale about it interfering with the Six-Axis (I mean, the Wiimote has BOTH acceleration detection and rumble, doesn't it?). Unless the new halo offers some crazy cool new play mechanic or mind-blowing visuals, it won't lure in new 360 owners. It'll for sure sell millions of copies, but probably not millions of consoles.

Even if they are working on a 360 version, the official line is that DMC4 is exclusive to the PS3, and Capcom will keep saying this until they officially announce a 360 version (if they plan to do so).
In otherwords, this tells us nothing about the rumours being true or false.

you can't really say that. Zelda and Halo are all first party. DMC is Capcom. Unless Sony owns the rights to DMC, Capcom can do with DMC however it pleases.

you forgot to mention "white knight story" ,which looks amazing by the way, and gt5. you can't forget gt5. the only racing sim the even matters.
