The single player just really wasn't up to par and we owe it to the players to not force them to buy something that's not good enough. They deserve better.

Hmmm, this game was sounding really intersting so its a shame that the single player has gone and that itll only be a download now. This is going to be a bit mad though as its going to be a huge download.
little disapointed but they probably have made the right descision.
Those who criticize those who build games probably have no clue as to what really goes on behind the scenes.
Make your own game, sell it to critical acclaim, then talk *****. Otherwise, shut up.
I'm sure they made the right decision. I can't wait to download this game.
I have no problem with that. I mean, if you don't have Online, then there really is no point of getting this game. I would rather them make it have insane online play then just poor quality, laggy-as-hell online and a lame sing player mode.
This is BS. This is one of the games I was looking forward to. It was one of the games, along with Motorstorm I reserved at launch. Of the 5 games I wanted at launch only Resistance actually came out.
When he says we owe it to gamers to not deliver a crap single player that doesn't mean drop the single player. It means get it right, do a good job. It means own up, fire your programmers, and get the game done. This is the yet another example of Sony promising a great game (I loved the original PS1 title and looked forward to this one based on their hard sell of their first pics that said actual gameplay) that they eventually relegate down to a download.
Anyone else feel a little bait and switched on with Gran Tourismo turned into a Tech Demo only?
Well this sucks.
This is BS. They should have put in the work and got it right. I like playing through the story of a game. They really dropped the ball on this one. Not everybody has high speed internet and not everybody likes playing multiplayer. I mean, I have high speed internet and even I'm pissed off.
All the GT stuff pretty much merged into the single entity that is GT5.
My sentiments exactly, except for one thing: FIRE THE PUBLISHER! The developers have ALWAYS delivered. Remember Twisted Metal 1 and 2? WTF happened to 3? 989 Studios. That's what. I'm sure that SingleTrac didn't just GIVE away the franchise. It was Sony's fault then and it's their fault now. Way to let us down Sony.
I understand how some of you feel. But you guys also have to take in perspective the cost of a next-gen title.
Most studios are under a timeline...that they generally have to stick to. The cost that goes into these projects is huge. Everytime they delay, it costs the publishers money and then the developers for going in to make adjustments. I wouldn't want them to put in all the extra cash and time just to make an aspect of the game that I wont be playing very much anyhow. It would be fun single player...but honestly it is going to be way better playing against somebody that can actually think for themselves.
You may have bought RFOM because it had a good single player experience, but honestly once you played online, you knew that is why you spent your money.
I was watching the preview to warhawk on ign and im looking foward to it even more. It looks like a fun and great multiplayer. I was sckeptical if i was going to get it or not but im a covinced. And if its a download for under 50 bucks, alot of people will get it. I think they made the right move.
Maybe they can move on to another big project....like a next gen Twisted Metal or Jet Moto.
this game looks sweet and ill get it for sure but how big is the friggn download gonna be -_- i got ADSL and compared to cable it is ***** slow at downloading, id most likely need to leave my PS3 on 2-3 days and nights to get this, im gonna feel the burn
