The demo for Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena finally went live on XBL this morning. What about the PSN version? It's "coming soon" says Atari. D'oh!

It took some time coming here, but The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena finally gets a release date. Expect the game to hit shelves on April 7 in North America, and on April 24 in Europe. A demo for both XBL and PSN are coming this March.

We already saw some videos where we got a few tidbits of the voice talents for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PS3, Xbox 360) last Thursday, so now, we'll get some info on who will be the cast behind the characters of this new title from Atari.

The guys at Tigon Studios have released two new walkthrough videos of Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena, showing off some of the game's levels and acting talents. Vin Diesel's deep, ominous voice is already a talent in itself. Check out the vids after the link.

Vin Diesel's Tigon Studios has time and again emphasized that Starbreeze's The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) is not a true sequel, calling it instead "an episodic expansion" of Butcher Bay. Game developer Starbreeze has detailed a few of the multiplayer game modes in Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). Aside from the usual deathmatch mode (Dark Athena's allows for up to 12 players), the game also features a couple of interesting new gameplay modes, including one called Pitch Black. According to an update from Starbreeze Studios, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) will be released in spring, 2009. It will be featuring a new campaign not found in the original game, Escape from Butcher Bay, adding 10 more hours of gametime.
