It is game-created footage, it is not video or photography. It is entertainment, like Doctor Who or any other science fiction. It is not based on reality at all. Throughout the whole process we have sought permission where necessary. This is an important issue. For many young people these games offer a different sort of reality and seeing guns in Manchester cathedral is not the sort of connection we want to make. Every year we invite hundreds of teenagers to come and see the cathedral and it is a shame to have Sony undermining our work. |

nobody even cares that its a cathedral...especially gamers who are not from england. i live in england, although not in manchester, and have never seen this cathedral in real life, even if i had i wouldnt have recognised it. the only people who will notice its a real building are those from manchester...and even then people may not make the connection - and if they do..they won tcare that its in the game and it certainly wont make them have real 'gun battles' at the said building.

I can't believe how intolerance is ruling the world now. People feel the right, speaking as a representative of the whole community, to criticise everything. my class went on a rs trip to the cathedral just after i'd completed the manchester level on resistance. Must say that isomniac did very well, apart from a few exceptions the cathedral in the game is pretty much like a carbon copy :)

Many religions believe that there is no such thing as aliens and that their existence would contradict the possibility of God.
So... technically it could upset a few people. However, the more probable situation is that this gives the Church of England press and God knows they need it! Maybe if they started playing Resistance on Sunday mornings Catholics would suddenly remember where their 'house of God' is...
and have a LAN party in the basement.

No, Muslims don't believe its good to kill yourself in the name of Allah. Its idiots like Binladin who teach kids its okay to kill innocents.
