Professional Bull Riders, Inc. - Image 1Crave Entertainment's getting into the bull-riding scene, it seems, as it just announced the development of a bull-riding game for multiple, though currently unnamed, platforms.

According to IGN, this bull-riding title is being developed in association with Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR), perhaps to keep the authenticity of the game intact, as well as add some celebrity riders to the game itself.

Said Sean Gleason, CMO of PBR,

Crave has spent a lot of time getting to know the intricacies of the PBR brand and the sport of bull riding and they get it! We are looking forward to working with their creative team to translate the adrenaline rush and action inherent in our sport to the major console platforms.

We'd add a tidbit here about Crave grabbing the bull by the horns, but we're pretty sure you'd just think that's a load of... well, you know. Expect the game to come out sometime during fall 2008.

» Not a bad idea at all

Gamers need more Genres. I'm getting sick of the game market being flooded by FPSs and RPGs, so it's nice to see something new.

My big question is: How will they pull it off, gameplay-wise?

It'll be interesting, if anything.

 » Are you kidding?!

You're concentrating on the wrong part of the equation.

This is purely a "genius" marketing gimmick that someone at PBR thought up to get more attention.

These days, even if the game flops, think about how many more people will be reminded (through reports about the game) that you can go see a live Bull-riding competition?

I guarantee you that crave didn't go to the PBR with this great idea for a game, and ask for tips on how to make it better.

I'd bet PBR went to them and said "we'll pay you to make a neato cool game for us that all the kiddies will want to play, and then if it sells, we'll split the winnings"...

I'd love to see the wii-mote version of the bucking bronco. Should be interesting....

BTW, when I think of PBR, I think of good ol' Pabst Blue Ribbon, not guys barebacking animals. :o)
