D3Publisher and Digital Extremes' Dark Sector (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3) is shaping up to be another visceral title with all the facets of a bloody action game, and many console owners probably can't wait to get their hands on the game to kill huge creatures and enemies in black now that it's gone gold. However, we're interested in the protagonist's flying glaive more than anything, especially after watching the latest Dark Sector trailer.

Sure, throwing blades around has been done time and again, but there seems to be something special in Dark Sector. In this game, the glaive is your best friend, and to succeed against your foes, you have to become one with it. We're left to believe another intimate relationship with an inanimate object is about to bloom, after The Orange Box' Portal proved it's possible with the Companion Cube.
