Well, it looks like we now know what David Hayter might be up to after his stint in Metal Gear Solid 4. Capcom has unveiled at E3 that they're now working on a movie based on their Lost Planet title, originally launched to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms.Nope, Hayter will not be playing Wayne Holden. Capcom will instead be tapping him to write Lost Planet's script. To his credit, Hayter has previously worked on the screenplay of 2000's X-Men movie and on the original screenplay of the upcoming Watchmen movie. No further details were announced regarding the Lost Planet movie, save that its plot was described as a cautionary tale with an environmental twist. Warner Bros. is the movie's current distributor. In line with this news, Capcom president Kenzo Tsujimoto also noted that the company plans to create several more game-to-film franchises in the near future. Jovovich-licious news for the fans we imagine, at least if Capcom decides to make something similar for Resident Evil 5's launch. On the other hand, Monster Hunter could use a good film, as would Mega Man. Preferably based on the X era of the storyline. Cel-shaded would be nice, but I realize I'm getting ahead of myself here. That's all the details the company has announced for the moment. Drop by again in case we run into any more information.
