Dead Space - Image 1

So, has Dead Space (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) really been banned in three countries? That's what EA says. The latest bit of info on this issue comes from Xbox 360 Fanboy, who reports that EA did indeed confirm the ban in an email sent last week.

According to Xbox 360 Fanboy, the email announced the rescheduling of the game's release to October 14. Buried somewhere in all the PR speak was the line, "Dead Space was banned from being sold in Japan, Germany, and China!".

The way the sentence was phrased, especially the exclamation point at the end, lends more credence to the argument that EA is hoping to generate hype due to the ban.

This is already straight from EA, but the more cautious should probably wait for official confirmation from the concerned classification bodies before taking it as gospel truth. The fact remains, though: publicity stunt or not, it certainly has created quite a buzz.
