Last year, the prediction was that Sony would win the next-gen war, that the PS3 would be the dominant console, just like the PS2 was. That is no longer the case. The extremely strong performance of the Wii, combined with the miserable performance of Sony has revised pretty much everyone's expectations. Right now, most of us here think the 360 will be on top for this generation, with the battle for second place between Sony and Nintendo (and that's a major shock, as we'd nearly written Nintendo off for the non-handheld market.) Most of us still think Sony will beat off Nintendo, simply due to the older graphics on the Wii, but it's not a sure thing. My opinion - get the 360 and/or the Wii. Skip the PS3 unless there's a big change in the near future.

Hearing opinions of so many developers is much more important to pay attention too, but it is still just speculation. But again, they are the creators and they ultimately make the decisions. Hearing Valves Gabe Newell openly burn the PS3 was pretty surprising to me. I for one wouldn't touch Sony's machine with a 500ft pole, and only because of its current position.

I grew up aroudn the corner from him in good old marlboro NJ. Anyways, Just cause he is ONE dev at ONE company deosnt mean he is right, its just opinion liek anyone else. Heck the main dude at Factor 5 said the exact oposite last week ( get a PS3 and WII, skip the 360). its all about the longevity of the system , you cant judge it from being out for 3 months. same thign happen with the PS2. im sick of people taking opinon as fact just cause of a persons job title. EA developer... unlikely. EA is doing poorly in the stock market, they need as large a market base as it can get. If this guy is really an EA dev, he probably would be canned for alienating the PS3 fan base.

Joe they are failing because sony shipped about 2.5 million systems and they only sold 1.5 that is a million systems sitting on store shelves that is something to take notice of since this never happened to a console that was the best selling the previous generation and that did not happen to the xbox 360 and the fact that the nintendo wii is still selling out, and the fact that sony stated that they would sell the first 5 million systems with no problem.

I'll take a devs opinion over any fanboi's stool. However, don't take out the fact that he is making a 360 exclusive (and PC) title. And EA is pushing to get more Wii titles out there. But really, it's his opinion and i hope he chokes on it in the months to come.

They had complaints about developing games for the PS2 back when it was released and its no surprise they would do the same here.
EA has always been a company thats had issues with their games since the last generation. It seems that they do their best to make a game for all platforms but ignore the bugs that go along with it.
Their NBA lineup pretty much destroyed half of their following because of bugs they wouldn't fix in all their versions.
Since they gained exclusive rights for their NFL roster, they haven't had any competition to keep them on their toes.

I own all 3 and have ALWAYS owned all of the consoles. I dont respect the opinins and statements of people who only own 1 as they are biased and skewed. I love my 360 for XBOX live, but I like my PS3 best for some reason... Must be my in-home Wifi, 1080p Monitor and 6.1 surround sound. You cant say a system is DONE in its first 4 months. Or did we all forget that 360 didnt launch with Gears of War, Dead Rising, and Lost planet...

At the end of the day, I'll be owning all three, so it doesn't matter to me. I'm not letting anyone other than myself influencemy decision to buy a product.

Sure right now the PS3 isn't looking too hot but no system does right off the bat. When the 360 dropped everyone was like wow this system blows. Look at it now, it's the best system out right now to have. I love my PS3 but other than Resistance what else does it have more to offer. The PS2/PSP line-up was just as bad and look how they turned out. The PS2 turned into the best selling console ever and the PSP kicked it up about 10 notches over the past year. If Sony were to drop the PSP down to the DS price the PSP would kick the DS's ass big time, check the IGN pole to see yourself. All I'm saying is hold out on the PS3 and wait for the big guns to come out.

I am going to sale my 360 just to upgrade to the Zephyr because it is going to rock steady. I have nothing good to say about Sony until next year (The 1 year I have waited). I know that Call of Duty 2, Gun, and Perfect Dark Zero held me ok until the others started flooding out. I also know that in Texas you didn't go to Best Buy in January and seen a stack of 360's when it was released.

Can you answer my question in (Why am I seeing stacks of PS3's at Best Buy in January after the release date). I had to wait till March to get a 360 because the one I waited in line for I sold for 1500 on Ebay. I bet the people who bought those PS3s on Ebay for 2000+ feel sick unless they had the money to fork out like that. I sold the one I got on release date for 2100 on Ebay and then bought one at regular price 2 weeks after Christmas (I came up). I think the PS3 is a better "complete" system (until the Zephyr is released, and I hope I don't have to wait a year for it) but the 360 is a better gaming system right now and with all games pretty much multi-platform (GTA4, VF5, etc...) and with Halo 3 and Gears of War sequels (and rumored World of Warcraft) will continue to be on top. Alot of powerful machines (Dreamcast) was better than the rest of the consoles but didn't make it because of the software (THE MOST IMPORTANT THING). PS3 has 3 or 4 franchises that will keep it afloat and competitive in the market (Killzone is the one I am looking forward too) but when it is all said and done 360 will win this next-gen war.

I sold the one I got on release date for 2100 on Ebay and then bought one at regular price 2 weeks after Christmas (I came up). I think the PS3 is a better "complete" system (until the Zephyr is released, and I hope I don't have to wait a year for it) but the 360 is a better gaming system right now and with all games pretty much multi-platform (GTA4, VF5, etc...) and with Halo 3 and Gears of War sequels (and rumored World of Warcraft) will continue to be on top. Alot of powerful machines (Dreamcast) was better than the rest of the consoles but didn't make it because of the software (THE MOST IMPORTANT THING). PS3 has 3 or 4 franchises that will keep it afloat and competitive in the market (Killzone is the one I am looking forward too) but when it is all said and done 360 will win this next-gen war.

Oh crap, son! We got a freakin prophet in our midst! This james guys can tell the future, so we should take what he says as the truth, ok? He totally knows everything about the consoles' hardware and if he says that the differences are so small it won't matter, he's probably right. The 360 seems to have built in HD-DVD somehow! I didn't know, but I'm not one to question. I didn't know like 5 exclusives lost was a lot, but if he says so, then I think so too. It sounds like he's saying that the PS3 will never ever get any NEW exclusives beyond the bunch of exclusives that are already coming out this year! And I guess Ninja Gaiden Sigma hopping over to being a ps3 exclusive is wrong too. Also the fact that all of Team Ninja Games might go over to PS3 if Sigma does well..., I guess that's a lie too. Maybe twenty years ago EA was known for ground breaking titles.. If they still were maybe they could pay their Dev's enough to afford a PS3. You'd think they could at least dust of some of the properties they haven't ground into dirt. They've gotta have plenty still around from all the decent studios they aquired then killed.
