Anti-video game violence attorney Jack Thompson who previously expressed his interest in helping Electronic Arts take over Take-Two Interactive has received a reply from the industry giant. Through careful wording, EA told Thompson that his involvement is not necessary.

Here's the letter EA's Senior Manager  of Corporate Communications Mariam Sughayer sent the Florida lawyer, verbatim:

We have received your letter to EA's shareholder site. In response to your offer to assist in the proposed acquisition of Take-Two, we would strongly prefer that you not get involved in this matter. EA is a strong supporter of creative freedom for game developers. We feel that your past statements - including false claims about content in our games - make any collaboration with you impossible.

A few days ago, Thompson offered his service to EA as a Take-Two shareholder who believes T2 CEO Strauss Zelnick "is the source of trouble headed Take-Two’s way." That's after he accused publisher EA as the culprit behind nudity in The Sims 2.

I think my respect for EA grew ever so slightly, from next to nothing to a little more than nothing.

» NOOOOOO (youll see why below)

GOD DANG IT they should have accepted so that they COULD HAVE BACKSTABBED HIM by putting all sorts of easter eggs into take 2's games and their own games. It would have been sweet victory for the video game industry!

» No See, this is just what jack wants.

if EA had accepted his offer. jack would have been a man fighting to take down video gaming from the inside. literaly like a cancer eating away at the game industry from the inside. and besides. it makes great business sense, why would EA a company that prides theirselves in the gaming business sense. need or want the help of jack thompson, a man that prides himself as the lone lone destroyer of the "video game"
No. In reality the best thing any first second or third party developer could ever do is keep their distance from 'video satan- I mean jack thompson.

 » um...

Backstabing would have shown him a thing or two though...
It's just like the situation in movies: guy "befrends target, and 'accepts' them into the group" Guy thinks nothing is wrong, untill one day the plan is put into motion, and by then its too late for the guy. he ends up getting killed because of that.

» you know lol it makes me wonder,.

What terrible awful experience, could jack have had with videogames to hate them that much, lol
