There are a lot of people out there who've been expressing gripes about E3 this year, how it was lackluster and kinda anticlimactic, and I can't really say I disagree. E3's been getting a lot of bad vibes since Activision left (or since last year, even). Ubisoft's executive director has his own thoughts on the matter, saying that while it's important for studios to be there to present their games, he believes that the time and place for the event is "not appropriate," and that we should have a bigger E3 next time around. Time for some international pwnage. In a press release, Konami's announced that they'll be holding a Metal Gear Online World Championship 2008 event for this summer. Nice. It's open for pretty much everybody, and if you make it far enough in the tournament, not only do you get a free trip to Japan, you might find yourself smack in the middle of one of the video game industry's hottest annual events, the Tokyo Game Show! The age old question/rumor (which Square Enix has continuously debunked and alternatively hinted at) may be answered very soon: will FF7 really get a remake or not? The gods of Olympus are indeed shining on this year's E3 showfloor - what with LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2already confirmed to be present. The Force is not strong at E3 this year, as LucasArts has decided not to announce any new games during the event because of "too much noise" surrounding it. Hopefully this doesn't mean that we won't hear any news on the upcoming Star Wars games. More in the full article.

*UPDATE* LucasArts has clarified that they will still be attending E3, after some initial confusion at their announcement.

Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII will be making an appearance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). In addition, a representative from Square Enix hinted that a launch date for the game may be revealed in the future as well. To find out more, head on over to the full article.

Eidos is the latest company to announce their gaming lineup for this year's E3, which will include the latest game in the Tomb Raider franchise, and Just Cause 2. More details are available in the full article.
