As one of the favorites to score big in Evo 2009, Justin Wong made a bold claim that he's going home with three Evo championships this year. No doubt he's got the skills and the creds to back that up, but the feat has never been done before in Evo. Will he make it? This is his first attempt at that self-set goal, and standing in his way is another big name in the scene - Jimmy Tran.
Playing in the event format, Justin and Jimmy played for their respective teams. The first match saw Jimmy with Yang on 1P and Wong with Yun on 2P. Firing with all cylinders at the get-go, both players managed to score with well-timed super attacks and combos to consolidate hits. After a very close first round, it was Wong all the way to take the first match. Second match, it's Wong's Chun Li against Jimmy's Uriel. The tide didn't turn at all for Jimmy, so Justin Wong bags his first for this year. As of writing, Justin Wong is currently fighting it out for the final of the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 event, so we'll keep you posted on that. Thanks to alanrdotcom for the vid More from Evo 2009: |

That last match sucked so much it was pitiful, never match urine, yea i said urine against chun-li. Thats like asking for a beating, that character is so slow u have to be ready to counter so much with him.

I was kinda surprised he picked him. It was like he knew he was gonna lose and just said "***** it."
