In its first week in the UK alone, FIFA 09 has already set a record - that of being EA's best-selling football title in its launch week (a record previously held by FIFA 08). Hit the forward button to a few more weeks down the line and FIFA 09 is setting a new record.

After five weeks in retail, the game has already hit the one million sales mark, thus beating FIFA 08, which managed the same number of unit sales in two months. The current sales count for the latest multiplatform football title in EA's belt is at 1.15 million units. With these numbers, the entire franchise to date now enjoys over 10 million units sold in the UK.
