Now that the PS3 has turned three years old, Sony has something big to celebrate with. Heads up, Sony has now confirmed that FW 3.10 will be going live today, after being announced only two days ago. Now that's fast. By tomorrow, your Facebook news feed will be jam-packed with download news and Trophy-whoring.

Heads up to all PlayStation 3 owners! Sony has just revealed some more details about the upcoming PS3 firmware update version 3.10 which is scheduled to arrive "soon". The latest update will incorporate Facebook functionality into the console.

Not everyone was happy with Sony's Firmware 3.0 update, we all know that. Apparently though, it turns out somebody was mad enough to actually file a lawsuit against Sony for having the said upgrade cause "malfunction" to his PS3 unit. Reports of freezes came rolling out almost immediately when the firmware was released.

Even though it did fix the issues caused by PS3 firmware 3.00, the release of firmware 3.01 also led to reports of Blu-ray drive errors from those who updated. Sony says it's not the firmware that's causing the issues, though.

Yesterday, we reported on another rumor about cross-game chat being included in the coming FW 3.10 update. Well guess what, we have another rumor for you -- FW 3.10 is "Coming Soon".

The PS3 may have lost its throne to the DSi in the Japanese hardware charts this week, but the PS3 blog has continued to see big news. With the release of the FW 3.01 update, many thought that their issues with 3.00, particularly the one with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, will be resolved. But out of the frying pan and into the fire, comments at the PlayStation Blog indicate that 3.01 causes more problems than it solves. After updating, many users seem to have experienced problems with their Blu-ray drives. Bummer.
