Previously we reported on a pair of magazine scans giving us our first look at Brothers in Arms 3 on the Xbox 360, and now we have a high quality official screenshot that was released from Ubisoft earlier today. Using the Unreal Engine 3.0, we are able to see an incredible amount of detail in this picture, ranging from the scarred close-up look of the leader to the soft lighting effects reflecting on his squad.

Brothers in Arms and Earned in Blood were both renowned for their combination of a first person shooter game with real time strategy elements, and hopefully the third installment will allow for even more squad control.

 » Too Much HDR, why?

Not to hurt the developer's feelings or anything, but I really hate what HDR has become. It is just a fantasy of bright lights and in my opinion, it totally distorts the picture. This can be very well seen in many Xbox 360 games and Unreal Tournament 2007. I really hope the PS3 can change the way HDR is processed to make it flow and seem more natual through every frame.

 » Nice!

AudioFreak39, I agree with you to some extent. This screenshot doesn't show TOO MUCH HDR. It actually displays it very nicely.

But I do agree with you, that some games can take HDR way too far, such as DoD:S.

But I don't get how, when you say, that the PS3 can change the way of HDR... It's not the 360 over doing the HDR, it's the developers and the way the engine is run as well. But mainly how well the developers use the engines capability.
You see the same amount of HDR on the 360 as you do on a PC game.

Very nice screenshot though, I'm glad to see the sequel games comming to the 360, it brings a lot more experience and enjoyment to it.
I hate how Brothers in Arms has a very bad frame rate on the XBox. Looks decent, but I would rather have a better frame rate... Now I get my wish :P

 » Not in-game

I wish that the devil would stop sending us screenshots that arent in-game. I'm sick and tired of getting juiced and then dissapointed. Amen.

 » Im pretty sure

Im pretty sure these are ingame. If you look at the background and the guys face you can see that its more than likely being rendered in realtime.

» another WWII shooter, great !

in case you didnt realize, I was being sarcastic
gaming is officially dead and the generation of gamers who grew up on the NES is leaving the buiilding

 » Nope.

Just because you think so, doesn't mean everyone else is. Compaired to other WW2 games, this one stands on top. The BIA series is more in depth, requires strategy, unlike CoD, where you can just run into everything. (Not saying CoD is bad)

» gaming is never gona die

no, gaming wont die ever, tho the concept of what kind of games people make does get old and i agree with one part on the sarcasm....yea its another, yet ww2 shooter, kinda lame if you ask me. but if it looks sweet and plays sick then it wud bring us a nice experience i wudnt mind playing. becuase the current gen console games looks god awfully unrealistic and never gave you that aftertaste feeling that you were actualy playing a ww2 game. COD for 360 is actualy a prety crappy game and it falls prety much into current gen games becuz it just looks prettier, tho by not too much. Their gfx engine sucked big time for it, w/ horrific texture detail and more making the pc game of it look way to good.
