Sony's PS3 may be leaps and bounds in terms of technology, but it's surprising how long it took them to notice this gem of a game. It's nothing violent or demonic and, as creepy as it might be to look at, it's surprisingly relaxing to play.

The game, good gamers, is Flow. Developed by Jenova Chen and Nicholas Clark for their Masters in Fine Arts thesis, this game does happen to combine simple, engaging gameplay with artistic value. The organism just follows your mouse, and you can left-click to move faster. To advance a level, just eat the red dots for each level, and go to the previous level by eating the blue dot. You might not think you'll need to use the blue dot, but in a game like this, it seemed strangely fitting to have boss organisms six times your size trying to eat you instead of the other way around. Escape sometimes felt like the best option.

Best of all, you can actually play it right now without thinking of downloading it for the PS3. Jenova and company opened up the file for public download on their website. Even better, we're offering it up for you. So don't just stand there, get to swimming the lifestreams of the internet and try this game out for yourself.

Oh, and yes, that was an FFVII reference. Enjoy!

yea, this game has been playable for ages. i first heard about it when ign repoted it was coming to ps3, there was a link to go play. i think its a great game. but its a calm and slowish game, so i dont think the majority of gamers will like it.

shame really
