GDC 08: Jobe Dylan talks Warhawk's upcoming content and single-player possibilities

Wondering what sort of ideas Incognito Entertainment may have in store for Warhawk in the near future? During a recent inquiry over at Game Developers Conference, Incognito's Jobe Dylan revealed their plans for a new booster pack, game modes, and a single-player release.

Speaking on the matter of the new booster pack, dubbed Operation Broken Mirror, Dylan revealed that it would carry new vehicles and a new battlefield. The new vehicle, an APC, would work as a mobile spawn point and supply depot.

The new game modes under development will be separate from the booster packs, and will instead be part of the game's future patch updates.  Moving on, Dylan also explained that they were still very much against the idea of giving Warhawk any sort of single-player expansions.

"If we look at doing single-player in the future [it would be] related to a new product," added Dylan. The good news, Dylan also noted, is that Incognito is very much interested in taking the Warhawk franchise up beyond its current incarnation on Sony's console.

For the moment, the company's simply waiting for opportunities to make this a possibility.

 » well..

is published by sony so believe me not... I guess they trying to say is that they want warhawk in another level from what it is now... in another words better than now :P... not just an online game.. a complete game with single player and all... they saw that warhawk became so popular now that they want more than it is...

Anyway I'm still playing warhawk more than the first time... maybe because now it's almost bug free...

a new weapon like a shotgun or something would be pretty sweet. the new content sounds like it might make the game less fun. i guess i cant say that until i try it though.

I would really liked to have seen single player campaign in Warhawk.

So far its my favourite PS3 only game. When I first played it I realized why they would have abandoned it the first time around because it is *****ing crazy online. It would have been good to see one of the patches add at least some kind of single player content. Although from what I understand this pretty much solidifies its presence in the next instalment.

i would really like to see a single player campaign or even better an online co op campaign but still id rather they spent more time in making the multiplayer better as in more and more weapons, vehicles and maps id love to see them put boats and such into the game that would rock and maby motorcycles or qwads? they should also make bigger maps and allow up to 100 ppl in 1 game! thats wishfull thinking lol or is it?

Everything but the 100 players in the game seems like it could be done fairly easily.

 » hm?

well they said in the first place why they didnt put more players in the game is because it got really chaotic. Even if the map is huge imagine how many warhawks will be flying around? Would be able to lift-off before you die O_O.

 » No offense

but I don't think the 360 can even handle Warhawk unless they make an extremely crappier version of it...

PS3: 32 people (soon to be 60) online
360: 16 people online

PS3: Omega dawn Biggest map in Warhawk plays flawlessly
360: Lags when I knock down to many zombies in Dead Rising (not online)

   Re: Eclipze_ - 2008-02-22
 » its actually

PS3: 40 people (soon to be 60) online
360: 16 people online

Don't forget about the first resistance if you want to mention the second one lol.

Looks like you guys made the same mistake PSU.com made - his name is Dylan Jobe, not Jobe Dylan. You cite 1up as the source, but they didn't make this mistake.
