Board game aficionados with a PS3 console will soon be able to enjoy the classic board game Settlers of Catan when it comes to the PlayStation Network. If they're in Japan, at least.

Genji developer Game Republic will be releasing the PS3 version of Catan in Japan on December 18 for 1200 Yen. This isn't a port of the game's XBLA release and will feature 1080p graphics and 5.1 surround sound.

No word yet on an international release date, but the game will reportedly expand to territories outside Japan.
