Street Fighter IV - Image 1The Collector's Edition Pack for Street Fighter IV of Capcom has been unveiled at the GameStop's online store. According to the information displayed on the page, the Collector's Edition is available for US$ 79.99.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions do have different contents, and from the looks of it, PS3 owners are getting the sweeter end of the bargain. For one, they get a bonus game disc containing HD 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers. The other difference is in the collectible figurines: PS3 gets Ryu, Xbox 360 gets Viper.

Here's what else can be found in Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition:
  • CD Soundtrack
  • Udon/Prima Hint Book
  • Downloadable Content
All in all, we'd say it's a pretty sweet deal. You might wanna get this Edition and order it before the February 17 release of the game. Apart from the goods you'll be getting in the pack, GameStop is also offering an exclusive headband same as the one Ryu sports.

 » unless xbox 360 gets something else

It's kind of stupid they are both the same price yet PS3 gets Blu Ray movie of Street Fighter but Xbox 360 doesn't have anything exclusive for it. The least Capcom could do is put an SD DvD with the xbox 360 one since xbox 360 has no blu ray player.
And Ryu > Viper just my opinion.

 » Wait Wait Wait

Blu-ray is a format now. like DVD's once were. I think CAPCOM is thinking ahead by saying "Hey, Blu-Ray is the video format now. Let's release this content on Blu-Ray". It's not exclusive just because it's Blu-Ray.

 » Really... don't go there.

If that's what Capcom thinks then they aren't as bright as I give them credit for. Obviously this is just a gift to PS3 owners who are getting shafted by the 360's exclusive Resident Evil 5 Ltd Ed. If Sony wasn't worried about Blu-Ray lasting, why did they put Dark Knight on PSN the same day it comes out on Blu-Ray and DVD?? They just undercut some if not most of their own sales. Yea, Blu-Ray is going places alright... next to UMD's in a cylindrical filing cabnet. Sony knows it's just a matter of time before digital downloads are the norm.

"First of all, there are console specific bonuses that come with the standard editions of Resi 5. The PS3 version gets a behind-the-scenes making-of video (apparently created by %u201CHollywood staff,%u201D whatever that means), while an Xbox 360 %u2018Deluxe Edition%u2019 will ship with a metal case and a soundtrack CD. Once the %u2018Deluxe Edition%u2019 runs out, the Xbox 360 standard edition will contain only the game, while the PS3 standard edition has the making of video on the same disc as the game.". Really, PS3 gets the shaft because they don't get a metal box? hahahaha!! As for the dark knight thing...SONY is partners with WB man, it only makes sense they release content on all of the available formats. Blu-Ray discs are here to stay. I've asked many and I know A million people and their brother (Exaggeration) who would still rather have physical media over a collection of computer files.

 » I sort of agree.

Eventually Digital downloads will overtake any disk format, however, there will always be that small percentage of people without internet or are paranoid to make money transactions online (though there are PSN/Live cards whatever, so I may be contradicting myself), so there will always be a market for hard disk media (for lack of a better word that I know). And I believe that Blu Ray will become the medium by which all hard disk media is stored on. Not to mention PC games usually require a disk of sorts (Oblivion) for security/anti-piracy reasons, so I'm not sure if they will adapt as quickly. In summary there will always be a market outside of Digital Downloads that can't be ignored.

 » Physical will stay

Physical media will always be around. I have high-speed internet, and i have no problem purchasing online. But when i can, i will buy physical media over download any day.

Thats because a download contains no residual value. I cant lend it to a friend, I cant give it as a gift, + I cant sell it. For downloads you're still too tied to a console or PC. If i buy it on console, i lose the portability of physical media. If i buy it on PC i cant take advantage of my TV + surround sound without moving my computer and hooking it all up just for 2 hours. Then theres the fact that while downloads carry no residual value, they cost almost, sometime exacly as much as their physical counterparts.

Thats not to say downloads dont have a place or future, because the do, but untill i can do everything with a download that I can do with physical media, downloads wont even come close to replacing it.

 » I agree...

Digital downloads will become more popular but it will be a very long time before physical media is replaced. The portability is the number one factor. You can't borrow it to someone or go over by someone else and watch it. And you can't trade it in for credit when you get tired of it. Plus, unless they come up with a way for digital downloads to include all the bonus features (deleted scenes, bloopers, etc.), physical media will always be the prefered method for people that want to buy instead of rent.

 » Digital downloads only the norm if...

We get larger hard drives and faster download speeds. A lot of blu-rays now come with 2 50GB discs. It takes me about 30 minutes to download a 1GB file on my 10 Mb service. Also I always like a hard copy of the movie with special features and higher bitrate with all the sound options.

 » Now, wait a sec...

I am on gamestop's site and for the 360 collector's edition it says:
* A Bonus Game Disc with HD 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers.
* CD Soundtrack
* Collectible Figurine: C. Viper
* Udon/Prima Hint book
* Downloadable Content.

And the PS3 version gets:
* A Blu-Ray Bonus Disc with HD 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers.
* CD Soundtrack
* Collectible Figurine: Ryu
* Udon/Prima Hint book
* Downloadable Content.
So..... the only difference is the figurine and the what disc format the movie is on.

 » Correct

QJ got something wrong, it's all over the net that the movie also comes with the Xbox version. All this fuss for nothing

 » Blu ray > Digital Downloads

I know a lot of HD DVD fans and Xbox 360 fans hope that Blu ray fails but downloading all your movies to a hard drive just doesn't seem all that reliable to me. I'm a PC tech and I know for a fact that hard drives die all the time, nothing hurts peoples feelings more than when I can't save their pics and music. I would never trust all of my movie collection to an HD. I want physical media and right now nothing is better than Blu ray.
