The Remote Play optionThere was a bit of confusion in the past as to how the PS3-PSP "Remote Play" connection option on the PS3 crossbar menu really works. Some speculated that Remote Play allows you to move movies from your PS3 to your PSP, some said that it enabled the PS3 to "throw" the movie to the PSP via Wi-Fi. There was also a bit of confusion if you can play just media via the connection. Everyone would like to get the PS3 to interact with the PSP in a gameplay sense right?

Well, Sony's demonstration during Gamer's Day should clear things up a bit. It looks like the guys who said "throw" are correct. During their demo, they were able to watch a trailer of Casino Royale from the PS3 on their PSP. So far it looks like you can "throw" videos when you're in your own WiFi hot-spot at home; one can't avoid speculating though if we'll eventually be able to do this from anywhere in the world.

Well, they did show a YouTube video of Kaz and his "Riiiiiiidge Racer" right before the Remote Play demo, and that makes me wonder if Sony's aiming to get people to use their PSPs to spread wacky YouTube-esque videos all over the place in the future? Will that happen? Time will tell we guess.

From the looks of things, it seems like the "Remote Play" feature is a media only thing. Even if we're hoping it isn't. Anyway, We'll update you if we get more word of what other things you can do with the PSP-PS3 connection.

This will be for gaming as well (to what extent, I don't know). Just look back at E3. Using the PSP with F1. Again, it's there, we just don't know to what extent. I hope they release a firmware in the future for Location Free (the PS3 being the basestation).

 » PS3 -- if you can't afford it--don't post about it

600 is a cheap price to pay... if you can't afford it maybe you should sell crack or something...it's definitely worth ruining your sociality for.
