GTHD Concept 2.0 with force feedback - Image 1GTHD Concept 2.0 with force feedback - Image 2

The downloadable title Gran Turismo HD has just been made available for Europe yesterday, and it's already surpassing its North American counterpart. What are we saying? What counterpart? Here's the story and you better listen up good because this could be an important development.

Apparently, a new version of the video game has just appeared in the European PlayStation Store, dubbed as GT HD Concept 2.0, and it effectively replaced the previous one. So what do we get with the new version? An improved interface? Improved graphics? Well, it's beyond that and even beyond your wildest hopes.

Friends, force feedback is back! There is hope! If you look carefully at the image above, the Steering Settings has an option called "Feedback Strength", and we're hoping that we're not mistaken, but this is the much-missed rumble feature. To further support that theory, the description of the feature reads, "This setting adjusts the strength of the feedback."

But quite curiously, take note that the only highlighted "wheel" is the one on the farthest left, implying that this only applies to the wheel model. What we have here in QJ is the version before this so we can't confirm this last bit.

One thing's for sure though: After we've all downloaded GT HD Concept 2.0, we will all be shouting, "Let's get read to rumble." Or will we..?

 » this is false

force feedback is ALWAYS present at all wheels compatible with ps3. i have GT4DFP yeah the wheel you are reffering to. since version 1.0 of GTHDC force feedback is working fine.
FYI - Force Feedback is Different from the dual shock 1/2 rumble feature.

Hope people who like rumble enjoy it. No there is no online play. Has about 10 cars and 1 track (gets reversed) and 2 modes (drift, time) all for free off the PsN...

Pretty cool imo. Its a free racing game pretty much. Only 1 course but hey its free and that 1 course doesnt look to shabby :)

Wonder how long it is until they release a rumble sixaxis, wondering if it's worth it buying an extra now or if I should wait...

 » yea you should wait

the rumble less sixaxis feels like youre shooting a water gun, its no fun....

   Re: BlueViper (Unregistered) - 2007-03-23
 » ok

yeah, even if water guns can be lots of fun I'll wait:P Bought resistance and motorstorm so I don't really have any need for another controller right now anyway...

 » ahem

instead of creating a sixaxis with rumble (not economical eg battery drain, awkward feel due to lightness and sensing/rumbling control conflict).
sony should just make an adaptor so we can use the old Dual Shock 2 properly on ps3. those usb/ps2 pad converters works but cannot direct rumble due to electrical deficiency hence control only and no rumble.

 » forceffedback vs rumble/vibration

Force feed back is for steering wheels ;)
Its the strength at which the wheel pulls against you.

Tiger Woods 07, among other PS3 games, DOES have a vibration setting in the options menu.

No reason to jump out of your seat with excitement though.... everyone knows Sony and the PS3 will eventually get Rumble back again eventually.

» Rumble is where it's at

They need to do some serious backtracking by allowing us to replace our current controllers with the new ones for free. Plus, they need to make the old games suddenly include feedback. That would be awesome. It's the only reason I stick with 360 versions of multi-platform games at the moment.
