Grand Theft Auto Rockstar - Image 1Predictably enough, many UK retail stores are running out of pre-order allocations for Rockstar North's much anticipated title, Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3). Play.com, an online retail website, has reported that it sold out all of its pre-order allocations.

Play.com executive Gian Luzio said that Grand Theft Auto 4 is probably the bestselling title on the PS3, and that it's an already proven PlayStation 3 console driver. "This is the biggest ever title for PS3 by a long way - and probably 360 as well. I've been really blown away by how quickly it's sold on PS3," Luzio added.

Two other online retail stores, GAME and Gamestation, are already running low on stock. GAME already has a notice concerning the low number of allocations put up on their website, which says, "We cannot guarantee delivery on the day of release for orders placed on or after the 7th of April."

On the other hand, Gamestation no longer accepts any pre-order requests for the standard version of the game.

This doesn't mean that gamers in UK, who failed to secure their own pre-order, won't get another chance of getting their fix. Play.com, for instance, will be getting more stock in the near future. "We expect to have some stock back in for the day of release on April 29th," Luzio said.

and shortsightedness knows no bounds...

you may not care about other regions the same way gamers from other regions don't care about overhyped america...

and just the point alone that the per-order of the game has been sold out in UK sure indicates that people care...

now go and wait for news about the US of A and then go comment on that as it's pretty obvious you won't be contributing any logical thoughts in this thread.

The only way America will be the region to sell the most copies of GTA will be by counting export sales to international customers capitalising on your free-falling dollar.
