Since a lot of you are just itching to show off your coolest moves in games, Ubisoft answers the call and adds a special feature for the PS3 version of Tom Clancy's HAWX (PS3, Xbox 360). Got a spectacular move that you want flamed on YouTube and you wanna get called a noob? Well, HAWX's YouTube upload feature will show those losers that you pwn.
As a bonus treat for this feature, the team at Ubisoft is calling out to future HAWX players to perform and record the rolling scissors maneuver. Send it to them on YouTube and they'll post it on their developer blog for everyone to admire. For more details, source link's down there. Previous posts: |

» Hmmm
Really good to see Ubisoft using one of the Ps3 advantages.

» Yup, open internet
I wish Killzone 2 and SOCOM Confrontation had this feature. Well, hopefully more future games at least.

» I agree...
this is a super cool feature. I also agree it would have been better put to use in Killzone and other first party titles.....hawx is ok, but not ideal for amazing replays. It is still good to see ubisoft using this option....so we can assume future ubisoft titles will support it(when it can be 'cool').

» don't worry
i'm sure games already relaesed will get this too (some of them), like PAIN... it started out without it.. but a recent update made it possible to upload directly to youtube... so why shouldn't they be able to update (example) killzone 2 into being able to do this ;)

QJ opted to use a video uploaded somewhere else instead of youtube which offers HD quality just like what they ripped from the PSN store.
ive seen this news as soon as it was posted on the PSN network.
anyways good to know devs are somewhat using some of the ps3 features and abilities.
wish the ps3 can upload all my non-drm media to youtube easily and as fast as this too.

» Yeah well
MS have painted themselves into a corner there, they've had the ability to upload picture to MS owned websites for a number of years from 360 games. I bet they won't do video though, can you imagine the extra storage they'd need to hold everyone's hawx videos.
MS may have to start rethinking their whole no open internet policy sooner rather then later.
As much as I like XB live large scale (eg video) user generated content is something it has no flexibility for.
