Now we've seen our share of fake PS3 news before and this one looks too good to be true. According to a post from Belzar.com, they are now on the verge of releasing the worlds first full-fledged direct boot modchip for the PS3 that is packed full of useful features including multi-region DVD and blu-ray movie playback.

My, that's a very big and long...thing... he's fighting. Okay, so I admit, I have a dirty, dirty head on my shoulders. But I know I'm not the only one who found something green on this clip. Perhaps to score some publicity on Bionic Commando's big day on the shelves, this humor clips shows up. While it's not as "funny" as regular funnies go, there's some suggestive language in here that made IGN check your age before they let you watch it.

The government of UK has made it known that they're apparently not a fan of racing simulation games such Gran Turismo. According to a government-backed report, these games are responsible for creating "a cachet of excitement and glamour around speeding."

In what would be good news for those who want to extend the already-powerful PS3's functionalities even further, the Sony console's Remote Play system has apparently been successfully reverse engineered. Read more after the jump.

Our hopes have been dashed to the rocks once again. News a few days ago about a retail PS3 unit's HDD getting decrypted sure made quite a stir, but apparently, we've been hoodwinked. It's nothing but an epic fake!

PS3Hax has released a tutorial (complete with video) on how to play PS2 ISOs on the PlayStation 3. Note: this process needs a launch PS3 (with the Emotion Engine) for this. Emulation's not gonna cut it. Details after the link.

A vid up on YouTube shows a 40 GB PlayStation 3 running a PS2 game, supposedly proving that any PS3 model - not just the first batch - is backwards compatible with PS2 games. Reports claim that a patch will someday be available to unlock the feature in all PS3s.

Hacker ifcaro has developed his own version of PS3 USBAdvance, which will allow you to run *backup* PS2 ISOs on the PS3. Hold your horses though, this release only works for Japanese PS3 models. Details after the link.
