this is awsome
kool nice job
This is great news.
Does it always have to be plugged in though?
How do you make it where you dont use the keyboard and use the controller?
to use the controller as a keyboard/mouse you need PGP!

Well, I tried this out, and it works with ALL my emulators! It is soooo awesome and works great.
Sony developed a whole new way to play games!
There are so many wired controllers out there that are alot better than the PS2/3 controller.
Ever tried to look over the edge of your plate?
I've tested a few PC-pads, but I'm used to playing with the PS2 ones and I like them. See, some people like the PS controllers and if you have a PS3 controller already, the why not use it for the PC when you need to. Eventually they will get the motions controls working also, so it will act as that ancient PC til pad controller thingy.
The 360's wired controller is probably the best for PCs. Not only is it easier to setup than a PS3s contraption, but it allows for rumble feedback and is just an all around better feeling controller. Just a little FYI for anyone who thinks using a PS3 controller for PC is cool, try a 360 controller, its muuuch bettah...
It has more features, but that's only because is been out for a longer time. Also, the ps3 controller is lighter.
Hmm that sounds way more like a personal opinion then a fact. All depends on who you are and what you like. I personally enjoy the playstation paddle design cause I've been using for so long and it's never done wrong to me. If you like the xbox design fine. There is no better though.
Hay, does this work on psp?
unfortunately not. the driver is designed for windows, not psp. maybe in the future homebrewers will allow for a usb mini to mini cable to connect the two, but this isnt it.
So today I took time off to install the SIXAXIS drivers, and when I loaded up PC version of GTA San Andreas, I was able to walk around CJ, get in the cars, shoot people, etc. Now the thing is all the controls are different. The left stick can be used for moving the character, but to step on the gas on vehicles, you need to keep pressing L3, which is kind of a bummer.
So I went to the Options and changed the controls to Joypad, and then changed the controls of foot and vehicle to the fitness of the SIXAXIS, and now it was working like a PS2 controller! This is SWEET!
I am thinking of opening up a site that many people can visit to join and help experiment in many different things we can do with the SIXAXIS, like control Bluetooth 2.0-built in PCs with motion sensor (im thinking of removing Bluetooth of PS3 or buying the part seperately from PS3 part sites coming soon, and modify it to work with the PC and use the SIXAXIS).
The Wiimote was easily hacked to sensor anything, even Half-Life 2(search youtube half life 2 wiimote) can be played from PC, so why not the SIXAXIS. 2.0 Bluetooth? IDK, but I do want to make a site where we can mod our SIXAXIS to the full capability, even control our TVs with a Bluetooth-modded insertion (X_X!!!).
My only prob with this is that its not wireless and the ps3 turns on when u take out the USB cable. Other than that, pretty cool.
To get this working wit MAME? I never hooked up a GameController to it and been playing on KeyBoard since forever. What would I do to make it work? I changed the thing in game to ID1 that says PS3 Controller but it still doesnt work. Can someone explain step by step?
i suppose you are using mame32 with gui
before playing the game, right click then properties
choose controller tab, put a check on the box that say "enable joystick input" then OK
the run the game and OK to pass the 2 startup screens.
press TAB on your keyboard, choose input then ENTER, from there you can configure which button is binded to which
I know that but when I press any button it doesnt assign nothing. BTW im using mame32k, same result wit mame32.
Is it suppose to keep blinking and then stop blinking?
The blinking means that its being charged and when its a solid light, its full.
i was wishing for this two days ago and now its granted.
thank you thank you.
It's not workoing. I followed all the directions carefully, but my controller lights just keep blinking once they are attached to the PC. Any suggestions?
i tried this for two days and it wouldnt work. But i finally got it to work.
Here are the helpful steps
1) install the filter driver (libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe) like it says
2) take the ps3sixaxis_en.exe and place it in the system32 folder. For example: C:WINDOWSsystem32. place it in that folder
3) now open RUN
4)type in "cmd" and press enter or click ok
5)now a command box thing should open
6)type in "ps3sixaxis_en" and press enter
now it should say something like

so keep on repeating step 6 until it says that
then ur ps3 controller is finally working with ur computer
it wont look like it untill you start playing a game or something or go to control panel and click game controller and callabirate it or something.
hope this helps
connect your controller to the computer after u install the filter drive then do steps 2-6.
if u have any questions just post back a reply.
I did the whole command prompt thingy and got

er, that said InterfaceNumber + 0, not + 0
Pretty cool but I already have a PS1/PS2 controller to USB adapter. They have it at radioshack for $6. I'm sure you can get it at a unch of other places too. However, this is certainly something to look into when I get a PS3. I hope wireless and the tilt functions work soon, I could use this to play 2 player emu games with my friends.
i had an idea bout using it on PC for emu's 2 days ago, n now i see this, thats so f'ing awsome!
but after getting that it didn't work in Halo PC or in the calibrate option under Game Contollers on the control panel, any help would be awesome.
Alright, i got it now. My ps3 was not switched off in the back so it kept syncing with my PS3 across the house, thats why it didn't work here.
yeah its not working, i installed the program, hooked up sixaxis then clicked on the other file, it shows up for 2 secs then disapears!!
what have i done wrong?
after it does
ound PLAYSTATION(R)3 SIXAXIS controller
InterfaceNumber + 0
initiated USB mode
(if it doesnt work, still)press the playstation button in the middle of the controller to let the pc recognize that its connected.
then go to collabirate in control panel and do the first step where you move the plus-sign-looking-thing around see if its starts working.
if it does, cool
if it doesnt, post back
Anyone have it working using bluetooth?
I have tried the original method and dopeboymagic's method of installing and it is still not working. The PC recognizes the sixaxis is connected however the buttons do not respond in the game controller tests in the control panel. When opening the ps3sixaxis_en in the cmd and by double clicking the

appears but an error report pops up right after saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Please help
can this be used to charge your controller with out turning on your ps3?
