Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix shipped - Image 1

An official announcement made available recently called out news that the game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has shipped across North America and should also be available in Europe by June 28. The game developed under the watchful eyes of Electronic Arts is now available on almost every current platform imaginable.

Boasting a non-linear gameplay feature, the title will allow players to explore the innards of Hogwarts Academy and uses an intuitive spell-casting gesture system that should please gamers on the Nintendo Wii. The game will boast the authenticity of the movie, from locales to characters, so we won't spill the story details until everyone's comfortable with the motion picture release.

Otherwise, the EA UK-developed game is rated E 10+ for Everyone (10+) and should be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for a suggested retail price of US$ 59.99, the Nintendo Wii for US$ 49.99, the PlayStation 2 and PSP for US$ 39.99, and the Nintendo DS, GBA, PC and Mac for US$ 29.99. Another ported version for your game-capable mobile phone is also slated for release, although no price has been named as of press time.

 » I don't know about this...

I never actually did get around to reading the books but I have watched the harry potter movies and played a few games based on those movies. Judging by what I have seen so far Harry Potter does not seem to be gay at all, although there are a few things about him that make me want to give him a wedgie. :p

OK, seriously, I have been disappointed by every game that was based on a movie that was cranked out by Electronic Arts so I will likely wait until I find this game in a bargain bin at a used game shop before trying it.

I guess I'm not the only one having problems at the Wingardium Leviosa stage. When I press triangle and X it just does the other spells......
Anyone get past this level?

You need to press the first button, then press and hold the second button, then when the wand glows brightly let go of the button.
This is explained very badly in the instrcutions.
Also my version is very buggy. Keeps skipping chunks of dialogue and adding sounds which don't fit. Anyone else?

 » cool game.

i bought the game on wii today, and am having fun playing it. the graphics werent quite what i expected, but the spell casting system is great and easy to pick up on. there arent many fights early in the game, just puzzles mainly. this also allows you to become stronger before the 2 largest fights of the game (no details.) i strongly recommend you buy (or rent) this game.

and i agree, the first 4 games sucked like theres no tomorrow.
