Screenshot of Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2 for PS3 - Image 1Guerrilla Games had a rather ambitious vision for the sequel to their 2004 PS2 title, Killzone. In an effort to outdo its previous FPS game, the devs put in a lot of hard work during the three years that they've been developing the new title. Hermen Hulst, managing director of the company, explained in a video interview how Killzone 2 was currently coming along and how they planned to achieve their goals upon its release.

As Hulst puts it, the sequel will bring the fight straight into the lion's den as the protagonists fight it out against the Helghasts on their home planet of Helghan. Hulst also mentioned that PS3 allowed them to create a totally immersive, action-packed game that they envisioned Killzone 2 to be.

The developers wanted to live up to the expectations set out by the first Killzone 2 trailer shown at E3 2005. Hulst admitted that to do this they would have to put in a lot of polish to get all the proper mechanics into the game to give it that immersive FPS quality that they were aiming for.

Killzone 2 is set to be released on the PlayStation 3 for February 2009. You can check out Hulst's full interview by clicking on the Via link we've provided below. Hopefully, this won't be the last we'll hear from the game until it's launch. We'll be sure to keep an eye out for any new updates regarding the game as we get them.
