I'm sure that the "humanists" will decry this manipulation in spades, invariably writing it off as a shameless display of American sycophantism at its most potent, but I'm not entirely sure that this explantation would be correct. Looking at it pragmatically, this individual offers money for a service to people who need it - you know, that thing your boss does to you. Furthermore, it would be easy to suggest that even if he does have "altruistic" intentions in asking the homeless to do this (doubtful, using the homeless is simply better business since they would be easier appeased), they are undermined by the paltry sum he doles out. To that, I ask: When was the last time you even acknowledged the guy sleeping outside of the bus station, let alone gave him 0? Personally, it's been a while.
That being said, you couldn't pay me to wait in line for a game console at launch as I've yet to see a console that was a MUST HAVE at launch. Now waiting in line for something like a Pink Floyd reunion? Sign me up, Abdul!
is it just me or is that just stupid, if he wants to win money, y is he paying 50 homeless ppl 100 dollars a day, 5 thousand, he aint gonna get no 5 thousand on ebay
funny you say this, i was watching a bid earlier today and just for the system, the winning bid was $4,950 plus 40 shipping. this guys gonna make a killing but how does he live with himself?
i hope the homeless guys run off with his cash insted of buying the system.
That guy is pretty stupid to waste money like that. Yeah that is alot of money to give out when there will not be 50 at the store. Not an entrepreneur, more like a retard. I went to Target and Walmart yesterday and there were already 20 people in line for only a handful of units. I wanted to get one but I will have to wait. Today I went into the Target and played one they had set up and it was pretty cool, but not waiting in line for 2 days and then being told oh that there is only 8. That would suck. I will wait awhile, when stocks come back up. Maybe the PS4 will be better and maybe a 3 day camp out will be worth it.........
Look, they are HIRED not forced to do the work. With 100$ a day, thats more than some of the jobs out there that pays daily. Plus they get money for doing practically nothing? What, standing there all day, chillin out with other homeless dudes are against human rights? Plus the person who hired them gets what he wants, and the homeless gets money.
This kid with the fat wallet just better pay these folks regardless of whether or not he makes a profit, probably not the best investment to burn his money on but it got him a few moments in the limelight. I know it will get me quickly unliked here, but people they are just GAMES. I like them myself but you won't find me sleeping in front of a store just to be the first spoiled brat(adult??) with the newest coolest system. What kind of people is this country churning out... I'll bet that only 1 in 10 of these "campers" even votes at our elections.
Ass
Crap
This whole situation is ass on crap for people who actually want a system. Though it is fully supported in our social structure I guess someone who is willing to pay 2k for a system wants it more then the next guy. May the games begin and who wants to start a bet on the most one of those puppies goes for, like a week before christmas?
He did not hire 50 homeless guys just to stand at one store. He is sending them to multiple stores, like his very own platoon of homeless guys. Man and if you can calculate, $100 a day for 5 days or so is only $500. One homeless guy will get one unit and guess how much profit you can rack off one unit? Idiots...
$100 a day - hoping to get 50 PS3's !
$100 a day to 50 guys = $5000
plus (+) $600 for 50 PS3's ----> = $30,000
AND THEN.....
sell each of the 50 PS3's for $800 --->
leading to --->
sales reaching $40,000
(meaning....)
a loss of $35,000
BUT....
a profit of $5,000 !
Clearly some of you have applied enough logic to determine that I do stand to make a "pretty penny" out of this operation. For all you haters I'll have you know that as our good friends mentioned all the homeless men were not posted at one location, rather they were strategically scattered throughout Raleigh and surrounding cities. For all you humanists: this is simply a win - win proposition. The homeless gentlemen were not enrolled in a homeless shelter, therefore they were not receiveing the food and shelter provided by yours truly. Wait for the release of my documentary for the complete story.
