Dark Sector - Image 1"Use it sparingly and make it special." That's how Digital Extremes producer Sheldon Carter approaches rumble support in Dark Sector, the upcoming third-person shooter for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 home video game consoles.

"It's all about moderation with vibration," said Carter in an interview with PlayStation Universe. "If every shot, grenade, step, explosion, etc... has vibration attached - the feature loses its impact. We have some incredibly terrifying and explosive moments in Dark Sector, and these are the events that we really want to punctuate with the right dose of vibration."

Carter also noted that so far, they have encountered no issues when using the PS3's SIXAXIS tilt functions on the recently-announced DualShock 3 controller. Carter also revealed that demos for Dark Sector's PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be available come the end of December, with the game scheduled for a January 22, 2008 release.

 » I think

you can stuff a game with rumble, it just needs to be the right amount at the right time. If every foot step feels like a gun shot then thats bad rumble.. but if you can make lots of things different I think it'll turn out perfect.
