SONY *****KEN FAILS
i dont think i will buy one right away..i wanna make sure they get all the bugs out first...but believe me ive been waiting on this release for soooo long!!!
Wonder how much longer this dead horse is gonna be flogged, cos if its not right when retailed, theres gonna be a hell of a backlash from upset consumers.
i hope its not true. we will only know after the launch date. cross your fingers guys :)
atleast SONY learned the problem ahead of time...if there's really one. go and fix it SONY!
Sony has a history of having poor products though. As most people who buy early models of their consoles know, those machines tend to break down early, overhead, or have trouble reading discs etc etc.
Hell, one developer (I think from Capcom?) even accused Sony of intentionally making consoles which get broken easily so they can make more money from people buying replacements!
Anyone who was at the TGS knows that freakin place was a oven on the show floor.
I think alot of people are just jumping the gun if you wanna hear more about it as well as 45 other peoples comments you could try this link:
http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/xbox-360/ps3-overheating-problems-204897.php
As you can see the X-Box 360's can also over heat if proper air flow is not provided and the system is played continuosly for long periods of time. (Sound familiar to this article?)
No ones really gonna know until we get these suckers home and try them out. But hey buyer beware.
nobody gave the xbox fans a break when their systems overheated, so why bother asking for one for the ps3?
I am not crazy and I am not going to buy a ps3 at least at the beginning, since sony was estabilished their products have got many production deffects one after another including the first radios sold in USA. I bought a psp in japan and the screen broke 4 months later.
Besides wii is much more original and i am getting tired of playing always the same kind of games.
I just can't understand why they didn't think that putting that many game systems in such close proximity would not make them over-heat :-S . It doesn't sound like it was a major problem though, if all they had to do was reset the units :P . But hey, investors get paranoid over the littlest things anyway. I'd be more than happy to test one of those bad boys out for them investors to show them it works properly :D Wouldn't even have to pay me, just let me keep the PS3 ;-) .
there were more 360s at tgs and no problems arose from the ms camp suprisingly but yeah i agree no ps3 at launch maybe not even for the first year for me. well until tekken drops than im sure it will be bought for me
Xbox 360 had problems at launch. Every piece of new technology has problems when it first enters the market. It should be expected and people should not be surprised. The problems could be a lot worse, like lasers diodes burning out (a problem with some revisions of the slim PS2).
I will not be getting a PS3 at launch for this reason, I am positive there will be problems that the fans scream about like the PSP and dead pixels. Of course dead pixels are just annoying, overheating prevents game play. And who knows how long it will take for Sony to ship a new unit through warranty with the shortages.
Wow, a high end electronic device that over heats in a enclosure. Both x360 and ps3 when not given proper veltalation will overheat. Its not rocket science. But i agree with poster 11 (Necro64x) that all new product will have some issues. There were v1.1 - 1.6 of the Xbox and i think there was v1 - v12 versions of the ps2. But i dont think many of us will even have the chance to buy a launch PS3 anyways.
how many PS3's does it take to heat a gaiming convention... about 200 (£85,000) would have been cheaper and more efficiant to use a couple of 3KW bar heaters...
Funny to see how badly bashed Microsoft got when people understood the heat issues on Xbox, but at the same show, how many Xbox360's actually needed rebooting... None.
At least Xbox & Xbox360 actually shut down when they are too hot, none of this staying powered lark which obviously upsets the internals, even your PC can shut down when it's too hot, so why doesn't a console that actually costs more than your PC do the same.
The ps3 froze with the armored core 4 disc that was it .... it does not turn off becuase it froze dumbasses just like the 360 if youve had one you play doa4 and the game freezes and the console will never shut off second it was like a hot tub when you were near the consoles with all these people gawking at me while i was playing the demos. The console it self seemed quiet and the rep. at the booth with armored core 4 didnt know what was going on so he started to try and cool the system down because he thought it was over heating and i cant tell you for a fact if it was or was not but im pretty sure it was bad coding just like in do4 because it showed similar side affects. Any othe questions just ask
Run on sentence anyone? Since we've got people making up total B.S., I have a story too. The PS3 is powered by a $ony laptop battery and all the PS3's caught fire and nearly burned down the convention center.
But its on green numbers, how that could be bad?, is doing profit right?.
Anyway Consoles always had those problems im sure wii is going to have those problems too,the good news is that sony detect them at time not like Microsoft. Also you can think its a heater as an Additional Bonus to keep you warm in the Winter.
That was the creator of Resident Evil who said Sony consoles suck. So then he started developing for the gamecube. I think one of everyones favorites moments is when he said He'll fire himself if any of his games go on the ps2. haha, and well RE4 came to the ps2. Anyways, I feel bad for Sony, people just assume that the ps3 is a god aweful piece of junk from people who've stood around the damn thing for acouple minutes. Course, Oct. 19th(?) they'll get one last chance to demostrate the hardware.

Sony's response: everything's fine.
I BOUGHT A PS2 WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY. I DONT KNOW WTF YOUR ON...

Learn how to read please :P
"Learn how to read please :P"
Learn how to use a credible source please :P. Idiot.
Who's suprised the PSP failed? I'm sure as hell not. I was really good homebrew would appear on the PSP when I bought it, and my wish was granted.
I won't be getting a PS3. I'm tired of people drooling over graphics, sony's BS firmware updates, sony's hardware problems, and mostly play the same game with better graphics. Oh well, at least it isn't a PSP, where you play the same game with worse graphics, sound, and on a small screen.
Because I bought my Playstation 2 console at launch and it works perfectly. It will read any disc I put in it perfectly. My sister also purchased a PS2 a week after launch and it also works perfectly. I think if you take good care of any console it should last more than it is supposed to. People who get disc read errors don't know how to take of their consoles.
Uhhh overheating is not a good sign regardless of it starting a fire or not. Sony is throwing away their dignity
my 360 freezes all the time for some reason and i only had it for 3 months whats up with that its been out for over a year already it should not do that as often as it does my ps2 doesnt freeze as much and i had it for 4 yrs
I bought a PS2 two weeks after launch and it STILL works fine. Today. Right now.
The Ps1 and PS2 both had laser problems. Anyone who followed the consoles nows this. Just go to PS2Nfo.com and make the same statement you just made. You will be laughed out of the forums. ITs been a fact since they came out. Why do you think they sell a laser fix for them? Now to argue that they didnt becasue yours had no issue is well (Insert insult here)
So before you call someone an idiot, do some research. Becasue you both look like fools.
Also, why do you think there was 12 revisoins of the console?
Yeah, the 360 had problems at launch, but it was also 200 dollars cheaper. Are you going to be happy about the PS3 when your 600 dollar machine breaks? How about if that guy following you takes it out of your car when you're shopping on launch day (this is not out of the question; it happened several times with the 360)? No thanks, I'll just buy a Wii.
Don't be jealous cause your PS2 broke down sometime after you bought it and you had to buy another. The only fool here is you. Get a life loser.
