Saints Row - Image 1Will you agree with us if we say that in the future, there will no longer be any exclusive titles for any console? Owners of Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 will get the same games. Will that stop players from bashing each other or will it fan the flames even further? We guess we'll save that discussion for later but for now, let us talk about Saints Row.

THQ confirmed today in a press release that its sandbox game is indeed headed to the PlayStation 3. EBGames was right after all. Maybe EBGames removed the link from its online store at THQ's word. A pre-mature announcement always leaves a bad taste in the mouths of publishers.

Speaking of which, here is what Kelly Flock, THQ Executive VP of Worldwide Publishing, has to say about their company's decision:

Saints Row has established itself as one of the most successful original properties in next generation gaming, and we're excited to bring the groundbreaking experience to PlayStation 3 system fans worldwide. Bringing the open-world genre to the PlayStation 3 system for the first time will help grow the Saints Row fan base and expand the open-world online community.

Lastly, THQ added that Saints Row for PS3 will be available in retail stores this coming spring. Maybe the next good question to ask is how will this game fare against main competitor Grand Theft Auto IV.

Nice, now make it better than the 360 version and ill buy it. And fix the online problem they had :)

Ill be picking it up if those things happen. If its just a poorly done port ill pass.

Looking forward to it though. Demo?

If this game is the exact same thing as the 360 version I'll pass. Don't need to play one of the most overhyped and dissapointing games 360 had.

Dude that game was a blast to play! It was everything GTA had plus a lot of much needed improvements. Maybe that type of game just isnt your thing.

LOL! 360 lost another exclusive. Lemmings keep crying that PS3 is the only console losing exclusives. Maybe their little immature brains forgot that they lost: Oblivion, Full Auto 2, Assassin's Creed ,

None of the titles you mention were ever xbox 360 exclusive and neither is Saints Row, and havent you noticed the creator of GTA has now made Crackdown for the 360 and makes Saints Row looks old.

 » NEVER exclusive

That game was NEVER exclusive playstation fanboy, only games published by microsoft are exclusive to xbox 360, I checked it out Saints Row was published by THQ the same company that published WWE Smackdown a franchise that was only on playstation 2 for many years but is now on xbox 360 with the name WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2007.

glad ps3 fanboys who refuse to buy a 360 will atleast have a chance to play it. that is what gaming is all about remember, THE GAMES.

honestly saints row wasn't all that great and it didn't gather a following like other high profile titles...

it's THQ trying to make more money off of dev work already paid for. here's hoping cross platform releases drive the price back down to $50... (fat chance, i know)

The framerate sucked on the 360's saints row so i think the ps3 will have similar problems.

I have no problem with this coming to the PS3. I thought it was a reasonable good game, but hey, I don't have as high expectations as some people.

Crackdown is a lot better IMO, but saints has it's strong points.

My recommendation, try before you buy.

ahah you 360 owners are pretty stupid you think xbox 360's so cheap ha what about the extra harddrive you gotta buy just to keep up with sonys what about the extra dvd player you have to buy just to watch a dvd what about the online fee thats bull***** what about the wireless adapter for the internet. ha thats about 1150$ you stupid morons ps3 comes with all that and its cheaper and the consoles newer and future proof so 360 fans enjoy your 1 year headstart that dident mean nothing and in a couple months ps3 will surpass your console with flying colours so kneel down and kiss the rings *****

» Let me point out some things that make me needed on this forum...

I'm am on a one man quest to bash Sony for their products because I bought them and didn't like them. Let me clear that up a little actually, I never bought them and still bash them. Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I love to make an ass out of myself by starting arguments about nothing.

I guess that's why I like this guys post.

P.S. - I'm very lonely and would like the company of a pet dog or cat... not just any dog or cat - one that will not run away from me or kill themselves after living with me for a week. Thx.

 » yep

If Volition can't even get online to work for the xbox360, i seriously doubt that it's going to work on the ps3, at least with the 360 they had support from MS for it (and they eventually did fix it, it works just fine now) but without any kind of support from sony i have my doubts.

and this game was fun, people who say gta looks better or anything really need to get their eyes checked. and its got free aim... unlike gta, they expect their players to have some skill.

and speaking of overhyped... gears of war... one of the most overhyped games ever... how many different online modes are there really? how is the gameplay anything special? sure it looks good, but that doesnt make it a great game... the story was pretty weak too.

i never had a problem with the framerate unless i was blowing a lot of stuff up at once (which most games will drop in framerate at that point)
