Jack Thompson - Image 1Jack Thompson was already disbarred in Florida back in September of 2008. 10 months after Florida, that disbarment from the practice of law might just go federal. Judge Federico Moreno of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida has issued a court order to Thompson, directing him to explain why his Florida disbarment should not be extended to the federal level.

To clarify, Thompson's disbarment kept him from practicing law in Florida, the awarding state. However, his license is still admitted in the US District Court.

No specific instance was given to clarify what exactly provoked the judge to issue such an order to Thompson. But it is a fact that Thompson sent a reply to Judge Moreno, an e-mail wherein it appeared as if he was mocking the Judge:

I make this request/demand because of your prior improper placement of me on a terrorists watch list in retaliation for my sending you a letter about judicial misconduct on your watch. Even the Deputy US Marshals thought that was absurd. They laugh now every time I show up at the courthouse asking, “Are you still a dangerous terrorist, Mr. Thompson?” Funny stuff.

Now you have entered a show cause order demanding that I explain why you should not disbar me from the federal court, and in doing so you have told me to spend at least $30,000 to make my case in producing documents all of which the Florida Supreme Court has and [can] give you free of charge...

If I get sent to Gitmo as a “terrorist,” then please send the stuff there. I’ll be facing Tallahassee in prayer several times a day as required.

Jack Thompson, should not be disbarred because it will set a bad example for mentally challenged lawyers all over the country! People will be like "hell no, I'm not going to Zack Fruitballs, he's got mental retardation like Jack Thompson."

Jack needs to die. Simple, there I said it. He is not helping anyone but himself (if anything). He's like a Mormon trying to fight homosexuality, but instead goes after badass games like GTA and game ads.

 » ...

You're a jackass.

Someone does not need to die because they don't like violent video games, this is a free country and he is just expressing his right of free speech.
Live with it.
It's not like he is getting anything done anyways.

Besides that, you are the only reason for getting mad at anything, because you don't like what he says but yet you are still compelled to read it.

Don't like it, don't read it.

He's a jackass. I read it because I don't know what its about, that doesn't mean I don't like news. Do you know what he's done to or for the gaming community ? I do. I wasn't mad BTW, I was practicing my freedom of speech also. Just like you.

he needs to die. go to heaven jack. go now.
stupid christian bastard.

*sorry if your christian, you should know better though.

   Re: Project D - 2009-07-14
 » I agree.

Jack Thompson does, in fact, need to die.

It's like Nazi medical research. Sure, the end result is admirable, and sure, you may agree with the spirit of the cause, but you just have to draw the line at vivisecting a twin to see what happens to the other. He's a pratt who is taking what is actually (if you look at the underlying foundation) a pretty noble and reasonable cause, and making it into something to be fought against simply because he's so damn insufferable and offensive. He needs to die if for no other reason than it'll help the reasonable cause of proper video game regulation.

Am I the only one that reads his little memo and thinks "This guy has gone WAY off his meds"?

He sounds like a loony!

 » He should donate

that 30,000 dollars to a good charity, maybe a homeless shelter.

And does that picture remind anyone else of Vice City? Just the palm trees and his shirt (of course probably taken in Florida haha)

   Re: Benjamin385 - 2009-07-08
 » Definatly

It does remind me of vice city.

But he should really donate money to an good charity like you said. That Would probably make people hate him less...

 » Well

Lets be honest. I didn't like the guy when he was legitimately fighting the good fight on games. I despised him after he started lying and doing anything to kill games. But lets be honest. Now, I pitty the idiot.

Why? Because now he's gone too far and can't go back. Either he gives up his crusade (it's too late already) or he fights until the bitter end. Most of us would have said, "okay, disbarrment? Well, I suppose I'll go back to work then." But no, he said, to Hell with it all.

Just from the picture, he looks like he's pretty old. He's probably well off from being a lawyer. Who knows, he might even be getting paid for this continuing farce of a crusade. He just, strikes me as a senior citizen who is ready to retire, but prefers to keep his crusade as a hobby.

   Re: thexile - 2009-07-08
 » Pfft...

Pity him for *****? He's just a nuisance of the society.

   Re: Acteon - 2009-07-08
 » ...

The only man in the known universe with enough pity for this fool is Mr T.

I actually think the most ironic thing in the world would be for Mr Thompson to be murdered by someone cosplaying a games character. Even Jack would have to raise an eyebrow and appreciate the irony before the axe fell ^_^

You are costing taxpayers money on all your fruitless lawsuits. Judge and lawyers don't work for free and it is a waste of their time. We need to sue you for wasted money. He needs to leave out his personal agenda.

 » 70%...

It has been my experience that virtually 70% of most business done in Florida is under the proper adjective of "SCAM". I am even currently working on a program for a golf course thing that the owner "supposedly" has already spent a bucket load of money on (over a mill, no bull*****) and yet my guy thinks I am too stupid to see through his veil of ***** to know he HAS to be lying.

Jack is by every means a$$hole deep to a giraffe in the 70 percentile. Money for nothing, living off the listless tit of the common man, while hiding behind his religion to validate his behavior. That's why I left Florida and will only visit for about 4 days at a time (about once every 15 years). Illinois is no better, but at least we shoot our scam artists.

I mean, wasn't there some kind of legislation passed (not to long ago) prohibiting stupid lawsuits? you know, I spilled coffee on my ***** while driving and now you owe me a gazillion dollars because I am stupid, kind of lawsuits?

As apposed to shooting or otherwise dealing death to Jack, why doesn't a news organization go and hound the hell out of him and uncover all the dope and hookers and kiddy porn scams this guy has been doing for the last 20 years and let him die the slow & humiliating way all the Republican hypocrites are doing now?

NOW THERE would be some justice...
