Great news, Killzone 2 fans! It seems you'll be getting a new DLC pack soon. Called Napalm & Cordite, Guerrilla Games describes it as having "flames and bolts and will fulfill the wishes of many of our weirdest fans." They're still holding off on any further info on the DLC until next week however, but they did let loose info about the preparatory patch slated to go live next week.
Patch 1.28 will be the 10th Killzone 2 patch released. It'll weigh in at 91MB (a whopping 316MB for the Asian release) and will be released worldwide on July 14 at 8 AM GMT. A two-hour downtime is expected to occur while the patch is rolled out and everything is smoothed over. Here are the patch notes:

Not sure about the free part, dude. The other map packs have been paid after all. Both map pack 1 + 2 were US$ 5.99 so this'll probably have the same price. :(

Yeah, they probably will cost $5.99 like the others, but in my humble opinion, it's been worth it. I wasn't a huge fan Steel and Titanium, but they were still good. Flash and Thunder was awesome. The maps are very large, and some of the new maps have been interactive. I personally say they're worth $5.99, but I'm a big fan of the game, so my opinion is probably a bit biased:-)

When Killzone Liberation came out, they added an entire full free Chapter that continued the story, as well as adding Infrastructure support, for free.
They just gotta make some money with DLC, like everyone else.

Who in the hell do you think you are? first releasing a map pack a couple months ago and another a little while ago and now THIS a FKN user/consumer requested patch and another map pack?! cmon what the hecks wrong with you?....supporting your consumers and listening to the community tying to make a good game great.

It all looks good, but the best part is that they're fixing the super-bot ridiculousness.

I love the smell of Cordite...You know that sulfery smell.

» Come on...
No mention of a bug fix for the campaign freezing during the Tharsis stage. A number of people can't finish the game so why should we even invest in add-ons? Come on guys, get your game to work for everyone first.
