Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots screens, news, videos - Image 1As we come close to the wildly anticipated release of Konami Digital and Kojima Production's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the latest Kojima Productions Report has interesting tidbits about the Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive that should get you more excited. If anything, this session 85 is a blowout of Metal Gear Online details.

Those who are itching to get their hands on MGO have more reasons to look forward to the upcoming beta outside Japan, since assistant producer and host Ryan Payton dropped quite a lot of snippets about the game. Similar to Call of Duty 4's formidable multiplayer mode, Metal Gear Online will feature heavy customization with equippable abilities that players can level up. Like CoD4's perks, you'll have the option to move faster or improve your accuracy by utilizing abilities that improve over time.

During the discussion, Payton stated that Metal Gear Solid 4 will indeed be on the 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray disc. Looking back to reports of MGS4 creator Hideo Kojima saying Sony's format doesn't have the capacity his masterpiece needs, Payton explained that Kojima Productions initially had the single-layer Blu-ray in mind and it simply couldn't hold the stealth action epic. Developers then considered shipping MGS4 in two discs, before Sony offered them the privilege to be the first ever dual-layer Blu-ray game.

The Kojima Productions Report went on to put the spotlight on Metal Gear Solid Mobile which already earned awards before it even reaches handsets. Find the whole podcast by clicking on the "via" link below.

MGS4 is coming with a MGO starter pack so you will be able to play MGO if you get MGS4. There will also be a MGO beta.

 » haha I knew it!

haha I knew they had to put it on 2 blu ray discs cause man from looking at the vids is like how the hell can ya put all that into 1 disc even if it is blu ray!?

 » wrong..

It's on a dual layer BD instead of a two regular ones. This isn't the 360, there's no need to use 8 DVDs for one game.

Does not mean its gonna be 2 discs, just 1... a dual-layer 1. Please read the article a bit more carefully.

» wow you guys are stupid

uhm technically Hekynn is right, it is on two discs, but its dual layer which is double the capacity......so its equivalent to....drum roll please....two discs

so no need to to get all *****y about it you two

 » So...

Im stupid because I wrote that the game will ship in 1 physical disc instead of 2? So by your logic, all 360 games come in 2 DVD's because theyre DVD9 basically a dual layer DVD.

But he didn't say "equivalent to two discs", he just said two discs. And there not stupid, there just correcting the guy and telling him the truth (that its only 1 disk).
lol I don't see the point in trying to "defend" the guy if he got his info wrong (or just didnt read).

i think he meant what he said with the two disks, or he would of defended himself from the wolves.

nah i doubt it, very few people come back to see if anyone insulted them, people on these forums think they are all great and i know everything because "i read forums". I hate people on forums they are so ignorant to how stupid they really are.
