We're practically hours away from the release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, Wii, PC, PS2) in Europe, and Konami still has some late-breaking announcements regarding the game.

Don't worry, though, it's not anything bad. Konami has just confirmed that downloadable roster updates will be made available for the game around three weeks after launch. In other words, sometime in early November.

The first update patch will be for four Spanish teams: Athletico Madrid, Sevilla, Racing Santander and Valladolid. The patch will also include some kits and team rosters for the game's other teams. An extra 12 teams will also be added to the UEFA Champions League.

So far, reviews for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 have been mostly positive, so this announcement could serve as another reason for soccer fans to flock to the long-running series.
