It's tough being an A-list Hollywood actor. Maybe more so if you're known as a noble Jedi in Star Wars. You have to toughen up to critics, friends, and strangers alike. But it must be tougher when it's your own son who doesn't approve of your performance. Liam Neeson knows this very well first-hand, as his son allegedly did not like his role in Bethesda Softwork's Fallout 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).
The actor played the role of the main character's father, and he supplied the voice for the said character. But as Neeson's account of his son's reaction to his role: My kid hadn't heard of it, and I eventually got him one, and he played it, and he said "Dad! It's you! He was so pissed off. No escape! And I said, "Yes son. I'm still a Jedi." Well, I must admit that account left me quite baffled. Why did his son get pissed off? Was his voice too nasal for the part? Or was he just missing the light saber from Star Wars? Anyhow, Neeson did get nominated in the 2008 Spike Video Game Award in the "Big Name In The Game - Male" category. Unfortunately for him, but probably a relief for his son, he lost to TV show 24's Kiefer Sutherland for his Roebuck rendition in Call of Duty: World At War. Related Articles:

» sounds to me...
the "No Escape!" makes it sound like he just didn't like his dad being the father figure in the game, like he couldn't get away from him even in an interactive fantasy world...
just my take on it...

nothing to do with his "voice acting"

» How old is his son?
Maybe it might ruin the image of his father as a jedi if his son is young but if he is older I would think his son would be happy for him? It is hard to understand what this topic is all about the way it's worded. Fallout 3 is a kickass game. I have played it for hours and getting mighty addicted to it and it feels so good!

The lack of end quotes after "Dad! It's you!" makes it even more confusing. Is "No escape!" what his son said or what Liam Neeson said?

» Caution Spoilers
Neeson's performance was pretty awesome, made his character worth finding.. but then Bethesda go and do the obvious by killing him off moments after you do find him.. what was the point? That death and the ending was the worst part of Fallout 3. Then we find out that, thats no the actual ending and Bethesda are releasing DLC for 360 and PC only leaving the PS3 users with an unfinished game and *****ty ending.
