Fans of the highly acclaimed ABC television series Lost who can't get enough of the series will definitely appreciate this new video trailer for Ubisoft's video game spin off with Lost: Via Domus. Featuring the same nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat tension the TV series is famous for, the trailer is no less gripping as it gives a sneak peek into the game's plot and familiar cast of characters.

Xbox World 360 has an exclusive look at Ubisoft's upcoming Lost video game slated for next week. As a teaser, video game news site CVG got a few details off the magazine's interview with the game's development team.

Fans of the TV show will be able to recognize a lot of the elements they've come to love. The game's development team has reportedly stuck to the rules of the TV show as closely as possible:

The Dharma Initiative hatches should look as they do on the series. Anything we put in the game needs to fit with the show. Along with the producers of Lost, we agreed from the start that the game can't be viewed as a little side project that doesn't count. The game does count and things you learn in the game can be applied to fans' theories about the Lost universe.

The flashbacks will also be an important element in the game. When players enter flashback locations, "everything will be quite vague and blurry, and things only become clear after specific actions are triggered." Some of the flashbacks will feature a few familiar castaways as well.

If you're among the many fans of the Lost TV series - and happen to own a console - we've got some good news. Ubisoft has just opened op the Lost: The Video Game official website, which announces the game's expected launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

The wreckage-themed site introduces visitors to a game trailer. Players will take control of one of Oceanic Flight 815's survivors and get the chance to meet the rest of the show's main cast. And while gameplay details are still sketchy, the show's mystery-solving theme hints that its game port will be a puzzle/exploration genre; the monster from the TV series is also expected to be included in the game. That's all the details we've got for the moment.
